I haven't done any entries for Hetherev in a while so here's my third challenge!
One of the letters was this:
G. Your character has decided to stay in Swashboo. Show us how they set up their new life in the city! Do they look for a source of income, or do they just sleep in a bar all day?
I think that pretty much covers it. 8I Good job, Maurytaur. Good job.
This picture mostly came into being because I really wanted to try the pose. Then I figured out, hey, it could also double as a challenge entry if I colored it up nice! I did that same single-light-source deal I've been playing with this week but I added color on the main figure. I like it!

XD I love to see you branching out with colors and backgrounds. I only got a passing glance at the sketch, I was distracted at the time, but the colors really added some depth I didn't notice the first time.

Wow. Just... wow. I can't think of anything to say that Tigglespits didn't already, but... yeah. The colours, lighting and pose all came out looking fantastic. The moths around the lantern really add to the atmosphere as well - I find that they make the rest of the room look even darker, like it hasn't been cleaned in a while.

The colors and pose here are fantastic, oh god. I love how the lighting melts everything together! It adds such atmosphere to this.
I ESPECIALLY LOVE HOW MAURYTAUR'S BACK IS LIT. It's perfect. All of the light/shadow here is so dimensionally correct, it gives that real depth to the figure. And I also love how the colors here are kind of more warm/neutral than warm/freezing cold -- the colors seem to blend super well this way, and you can see how the light warms up things around it without taking out the eerie dimness.
