Description Dear brother and Sisters in Christ:

Trials and storms do not have to be a physical or an external battle, but can also be a spiritual one. The funny thing is that we hardly recognize them as "storms" for we can be so adjusted to them. When I think of trials, I think of the physical world: Problems with people, with health, financial struggles, and so on. Obviously, spiritual battles ARE storms: whether it's against foreign thoughts, a fight against our old nature... feeling like a failure in our Christian life. How we so easily forget of our failures before Christ redeemed us! And how He accepted us, even when we were His enemy! How much more does He want to aid us in our comfort, if only we would turn around in all of our misery and face Him! This picture I finished, represents my how I sometimes feel in my soul during those trials... and that can go so easily undetected by others. We drown ourselves in our own internal struggles, and are too blinded by the waves of turmoil to recognize that we need to cry out for help... and this is exactly where Satan wants us to be; isolated within ourselves, miserable, disturbed, and too to "feel" too imperfect to do anything about it. We can get so lost in that. Just know that Christ IS our lighthouse, if we can just get ourselves to turn around and see the steadiness in His eyes, and to allow Him to sustain us within His embrace. Don't feel like you have to battle anything on your own, no matter how small or insignificant you might think the issue is. A tiny insect bite can cause infection for your entire body. As so it is with your internal battles. You will fall. Turn to Christ, let Him restore and mend you. Then ask for help within the church, or a close friend to keep an "eye" on you and to touch bases with you.

Finished with Copic markers and Golden acrylic paint for white touch ups. And yes, it is possible to "sit" in that position! ^-^
PS: I suck at drawing people, and waves, and clouds and... birds... so sue me. XD

PLEASE: If you don't agree with the interpretation of this picture, just simply hit the back button. No need to flame. ALL inappropriate comments, such as anyone wanting to pick a fight about Christianity, or have an uncivil argument, will have their comment deleted.

---------> As always, comments are most appreciated and enjoyed! <------------------

"How long have I been in this storm?
So overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form
Water's getting harder to tread
With these waves crashing over my head

If I could just see you
Everything would be all right
If I'd see you
This darkness would turn to light

And I will walk on water
And you will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost into your eyes
I know everything will be alright
I know everything is alright"

I really like what you're trying to show here. I especially like how you chose different colors and style for the subject, and the background. I think the only set-back for me, at least, is the stiffness in the person's pose. It looks a bit robotic, and I think it could easily be re-done in a more organic way.

Just trying to give helpful feedback, seriously though I like what you're going for here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment, and I really appreciate the critique! It is very helpful. I am horrible at drawing people, and poses are a double-whammy for me. I am working more on them, now. And I think I'm getting better, But I'm still not brave enough to post them. haha! And hopefully, when my people Β more "not-so-cardboardy" I'd like to redo this one. Again, thank your for your feedback! ^__^
