What makes The lich so horrific is he has no desire for fame, adulation, or to create a new world, he only cares about genocide and destruction, there's absolutely no reasoning or bargaining with him. Finn was right to call him basic, but it's precisely what makes him so creepy.

The greatest moment in adventure time history. I wish there were more episodes with the lich king! I love all the episodes, but I'm still prefer the more serious cartoons.

This version looks quite similar to The Horned King from the Black Cauldron

*Nag* The Lich was actually based off of the Horned King from the Disney film in appearance.
*Emerald* But trust me. The actual Horned King in the Chronicles of Prydain actually was much more sinister and dangerous, and he wasn't even the main villain.
