Description Sloth from The Goonies. Man I love that movie.
I was doodling in my Evolution class yesterday and drew a cartoon that looked a lot like Sloth, so I decided to do a big drawing of him. What with this and my Skull picture, apparently I'm on some kind of loveable lug kick.

The Goonies is my #5 favorite movie.

I'm on agreement with you. The Goonies was just a brilliant movie. Although, Chunk was my fav., that kid could do no wrong. Anyway, this is a great piece. I really love the layout and the awesome pose.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WonderDookie In reply to Squabbit [2005-12-14 12:30:07 +0000 UTC]

Yes. Chunk really is my favorite character too... it's just that Sloth is a little more fun to draw. I miss movies like Goonies where kids actually acted like kids, instead of like adults with disproportioned heads (like every kid in movies nowadays).

OMG, I so agree. Every kid is a regular Jim Carey these days. And we already have enough of those.

Ill. I'm reluctantly relieved as I click on each fanart as they are of something actually good. I remember watching this when I was still a thumb-sucker (It's embarrassing to admit I used to suck on it till I was old enough to get smacked for doing so) and pissing my pants at the first sight of Sloth.
Nice work on the teeth and the nose. That's quite an apt title too. Do you do flash animations as well?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WonderDookie In reply to a4anner [2005-11-04 20:51:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... I really like redrawing characters in my own style, but it's kind of scary doing a lot of fanart. Always asking myself, "Am I being original enough?". If I start writing out fanfic, then I'll just hire some guy to come kick this shit out of me.

ha ha. You litterally pissed your pants? I watched this movie constantly as a kid. It was actually filmed in my home state, so I'd always imagine that it was possible for me to find pirate gold too. (Huzzah for Oregon).

I tried to do animations a couple of times before. Usually just quick little sequences (like the credits for a "Corduroy Ninja" short film we did this summer).

a4anner In reply to WonderDookie [2005-11-05 06:24:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. I used to be one shallow spoiled little brat. So the appearances of Sloth back then was a huge shock to me. Thankfully he appeared in the dark a lot. so less mess on the carpet for me.
The ultimate movie for my constant liking as a kid was Willy Wonka an dthe Chcolate Factory. Mainly because of my obsession of food. (And I'm always eating while watching movies)
The reason I asked you about the flash animations was.. well, since you're always using flash, and I thought this'd be funny if you included his voice along with that title. That idea doesn't sound as entertaining now, but it did when it first popped up.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

WonderDookie In reply to a4anner [2005-11-05 12:38:50 +0000 UTC]

HA! Yeah, you really do have an obsession with food. Half the time I see your drawings I have to go make myself a sandwich or something! Willy Wonka was awesome! I'm mostly a huge fan of Wilder in that movie.

That IS a pretty cool idea about Sloth's voice included with the title. I could actually have the words of the title fade in as Sloth says them. Now I gotta hit the web and looked for that sound byte.

a4anner In reply to WonderDookie [2005-11-06 09:15:33 +0000 UTC]

Haha. Yeah does it show. My mum (yes i've moved back home) cooks the amount that could feed about 8 ppl every day. By the time my 3 alarm clocks have been fallen off the table, there's nothing left in the kitchen. My family (except for mum) have the monstrous apetite, but high enough metabolism. And again, my mum's the only odd one out. She eats the least and gains the most (weight that is)

Think it'd be a tough search finding a voice clip of him. You could probably do one yourself with your crazy friends

WonderDookie In reply to a4anner [2005-11-07 00:37:23 +0000 UTC]

Found a sound clip on the first page I looked! I'm actually somewhat motived to edit that Sloth pic (thank you for the idea). I've never really put much effort into animating speaking mouths before, so it'll be a learning experience.

Nothing too wrong with moving back home either. I did that for a while when I was 22. There's definate appeal to eating meals that take longer than a minute and a half to prepare in the microwave. Sometimes I get nostalgic thinking about my mother's cooking, and just stare off into space for a while longingly. Stomache gurgling. (Like I did just now).

I'm actually loving it if i may be so bold enough to shamelessly admit it. No chores + free food + no rent. Life is sweeeeet

itd be interesting to see an edit of this piece like that. I've been looking for a sound clip of Murray's eviiil voice, but no luck so far

WonderDookie In reply to a4anner [2005-11-08 00:22:22 +0000 UTC]

Do your parents do your laundry for you too? That was the main appeal for me.

Are you looking for a specific Murray clip?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

a4anner In reply to WonderDookie [2005-11-08 06:09:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah. I hate anything related to the term laundry. I never even used to be able to spell it right.

Not really a specific clip as per se, but if it was easy enough for me to pick and mix, probably the phrase "Hey you, the one with the face!" from MI 4. OH man, I miss it so much, might actually ahve to reinstall it tonight

WonderDookie In reply to a4anner [2005-11-09 08:15:30 +0000 UTC]

I actually had to rebuy MI3 online a couple years ago (that's what I get for loaning my first copy to friends). That's the one I need to reinstall.

a4anner In reply to WonderDookie [2005-11-10 02:18:58 +0000 UTC]

Really
I left one of the two CDs of MI3 in my ex's CD case. He flew off to another country after the break up, leaving all his stuff packed up in his granddad's garage, so I actually had one of my mates copying it and sending that cd to me via post. That was a mission. Dunno why I didn't just go out and buy another one

True story: There was a kid in my highschool who looked ecactly like sloth... except he was a dumbass not challenged. When we were freshmen the senoirs would chant "Baby Ruth" when he walked into shop.

Also a true story: I had a friend in high school who wore crooked sunglasses that made him look like Sloth. Whenever he'd wear the glasses we'd yell, "Hey You Guys!"

That's kind of a funny coincidence.

heres a question for you then, how many of the jokes in "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galexy" did you understand? as the group i went with were the only ones to understand the subtle british humor. (dont act like you didnt see it! i saw that drawing as well! with the push popper thing)
