haha. Thanks!
Yeah, it seems like a pretty common disease on capitol hill, but most rife among repubs.

It's not Mitt Romney's fault he can't understand emotions. He's just a robot

Just what the country needed, a hardcore business consultant after 8 years of the petroleum warlord spending all the trillions in tax dollars when there are more urgent matters at home.

Urgh. Yeah. It's pathetic. All of that military intervention crap is such a lose-lose situation. If the US does nothing, we are heartless bastards. If we intervene we are imperialists. At least by doing nothing we don't waste trillions of dollars.

WonderDookie In reply to YUNOartist2500 [2012-12-24 02:32:11 +0000 UTC]
Oh yes! I proudly voted for Obama. Both times. He brought the country out of a nose dive toward another depression, actively supported green energy, took the first steps toward an overhaul of our broken healthcare system, and voiced his support for ending discrimination against gay people and allowing them to marry. (Not to mention got rid of Osama Bin Laden, who Bush had just given up on).
Economically, environmentally, and socially there were very few Romney policies that I agree with.

LS-Jebus [2012-11-03 14:43:21 +0000 UTC]
Romney was their backup candidate. Everyone else was too crazy (ie. Santorum and Rick Perry) too stupid (ie. Bachmann), too sleazy (ie. Herman Cain and Gingrich), or too unpopular (ie. Ron Paul and Gary Johnson). They had to choose someone who was a middle-ground candidate. That left Huntsman or Romney. But Huntsman was too rational, wanting to work with China, wanting to allow same-sex unions, and not denying climate change. Whereas Romney was malleable, and would change his views on key issues to align with the GOP platform.
So the US got stuck with an uncharismatic, flip-flopping, apathetic liar.

Urgh. I remember. I couldn't figure out who to root for in the primary because all of the other candidates were so bat-shit crazy (except for Huntsman), but I was afraid that Romney would actually win the election. He's such a slick salesman (read: dishonest). Only two days left til we find out what happens. I have my electoral college prediction written on a sticky note stuck to my computer monitor.

There are so much of that political-goings everywhere that even non-english people like me got interested. I never was familiar with democrates\obama - thingies. But i filtered all that information through my childish nerdy brain and this what i have got:
1) Obama - Good Guy
2) Romney - Family Comedy villain (which is also kinda neat noticing my little obsession with villains)
-
So may be it's even good that i'm not english because i was SO confused by my vote-choice...

WonderDookie In reply to Garvals [2012-10-16 10:32:43 +0000 UTC]
haha. Perhaps that's the platform he should run on (Family Comedy Villain for President).
Yeah.. I think it's generally frowned upon to vote on someone because you think they would make the best villain. It didn't end so well with Bush (or Putin from the most recent news I've been seeing).

WonderDookie In reply to BAMillustration [2012-09-28 10:36:39 +0000 UTC]
Well he's not in the pocket of the big businesses that run the GOP.
There are aspects of the libertarian movement that I quite like, but other parts just border on anarchy for me. Like getting rid of environmental protection and privatizing it. That just wouldn't work. Especially since only about 5% of plants and animals in the US have any kind of economic value.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
BAMillustration In reply to WonderDookie [2012-10-01 17:10:38 +0000 UTC]
Well I hadn't heard them talk about the environmental protection thing, but I would guess the point would be that the government is supposed to have a very limited amount of power and duties, namely protecting our border. Doing away with all environmental protection at once sounds like a really bad idea, but I know there are plenty of non-profit organizations and such that could spring up in it's place over time.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
WonderDookie In reply to BAMillustration [2012-10-03 10:12:38 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. They don't talk about the environment too much. Same with immigration. I don't think that many of their core voters would be too pleased about naturalising all of the illegal immigrants.
I think they do expect a lot of the non-profits to step in, but those organisations are stretched to the limit already, even with government aid. And (*stepping on my soap box*) shouldn't we all take responsibility instead of just dumping the problem on an altruistic few?

Yeah... last time I voted for Obama, but if he had lost to McCain I wouldn't have been shattered (Unless something happened to McCain and Palin became president). This time around... I'm a bit terrified.
