So this is what i wanted to make when i was playing with [link] and [link]
Ouh and change quality to low becose with good filter quality it lags... But looks awasome

Controls:
Space - to turn on/off turbulance(not really turbulance) map
Mouse button - rise air pressure. Check it with space-on to see what it does.

You can't imagine how much i messed with my stuff Time to create + 3x time to play with middle results and some more to play with end result

My dad, a hydrologist, suggests to get realistic fluid motion in the smoke column,
start a pulse from one edge of the screen, in one direction. As it travels it should form eddies on its edges that mix with the surrounding air. Drop dye into a glass of water and watch how it disperses.

Heh. It is AS3 and it is Bitmapdata + bitmafilters thing. I knwo that it is slow... Large size and not very fast way of making wind... But i don't knwo any other for now...

I think the filters slow it down .... and I don't know the 'flow-field' algortithm .... but the effect is nice

I suppose that fitlers sow the most. It jsut that 600x600 picture filtering takes much processor time... I think i can make it faster by reducing the size of bmp...

No i just prefere interactive variants. You can check uninteractiv fire i made. It is not interactive(at least i don't know how to make it interactive for now) But looks good and works fine.

Wow. Good one. I didn't noticed that you have flash. I will go look mroe carefully Ouh not so many...
About fire... There used few thigns based on perlin noise and displacement map. Turbulant map is generated for displacment fitler and then displacement is used. To make it interactive i need to draw something in turbulant map before using it in displacement filter. It hsore is possible but preaty hard task... Need to perform more experements on making dispalcmeent maps...
