Description
She's angry at someone.
After the scanner messed up the colors, I tried to restore them with photoshop, but still couldn't quite get them to what they look like in my sketchbook.
The yellowish areas are supposed to be highlights where the sun is hitting her, but I don't that turned out too well. Oh yeah, and the tail is up like that because I ran out of room on the page.

And about the tail; I think I might've seen a video of a lioness hunting one time, and she kinda whipped her tail around from being straight to curled like that with every bound... could be just faulty memory, though.
Either way, the drawing still looks great.

Thanks! I think lions use their tails as counter balances when they make turns. I know cheetahs do, at least. Otherwise they might fall over and crash whenever they make high speed turns, lol!

She looks really good- gotta love how the snout's crinkled up. "Rawr, I will get you!"
I think I've seen pictures of lionesses running with their tails up like that, but maybe I'm wrong...

Yeah, the crinkled snout was fun. 
I think you are right about the tail...they can use it as leverage when running, to help keep themselves from falling over after making a sharp turn. We'll just say this lioness just made a sharp turn.
