Description

E.v.e. awoke to find herself stuck in a trash heap. A troop of robotic mice scattered in all directions, making alarmed clicking sounds. She looked around, disoriented, and barely able to see anything. As her visor adjusted to the darkness, E.v.e. made out enormous, chaotic trash heaps, and barely visible giant shapes moving around in the dark. E.v.e. realized, to her horror, that she had ended up in the disposal sector of the Axiom... and Wall.e was likely stuck down here too. Her suspicions were confirmed when she heard Wall.e groan, "Eeeee..." from somewhere near her position. Frantically, E.v.e. started to struggle out of the trash pile, desperately calling, "Wall.e? Wall.e? WALL.E!" Wall.e groaned again in response. In the distance, alarms started blaring, and a pair of doors slamming shut echoed through the cavernous chamber. The computer played an automated message, "Warning! Activating Airlock Disposal! Activating Airlock Disposal!" The muffled sound of an explosive decompression was heard, followed by the doors sliding open and an extremely loud screaming sound as a massive platform moved back into the disposal sector. E.v.e.'s breath caught in her throat as she heard an extremely loud half crunching half mechanical roaring sound echoed through the darkness, followed shortly thereafter by another. The massive disposal bots- Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Axiom Class, or Wall.as were already working on their next cartload of items to be disposed of.

E.v.e. struggled more frantically against the weight of the trash dropping on top of her. Getting out of the trash heaps seemed to be an impossible task- more trash kept dropping from the holes in the ceiling, undoing any progress that E.v.e. made. She glanced at the top of the trash heap next to her, and spotted Wall.e also trying to struggle out of the mountain of trash. She too was struggling to make any progress at all. Suddenly, a massive pair of gate like hands slammed down on the trash heap in front of Wall.e, and she screamed as the Wall.a compacted her into a trash cube. A massive pair of hands likewise slammed down in front of E.v.e., and she too screamed as she was compacted into a Wall.a's trash cube. The Wall.as carried their trash cubes towards the platform, which was almost full. They placed the last two cubes on their pile, and the platform lurched into motion. E.v.e. looked around once more, panic stricken. She spotted Wall.e in the trash cube, breathing heavily and leaning out of the trash cube. Wall.e groaned, "Eeeee...", and E.v.e. started struggling to free herself from her trash cube as the platform slid through the air lock doors. E.v.e. ended up blasting her way out of the cube with her plasma cannon, and now flew to Wall.es cube, and started trying to pull her out of it. The platform cleared the inner doors, and alarms started to blare. E.v.e. looked back at the doors, and saw them starting to close. She continued struggling to pull Wall.e out of the cube, just managing to get her free as the doors approached the half way point between open and closed.

In the main part of the Disposal Sector, Mo fell through a seldom used trash hole, screaming defiantly as he fell. He had tracked Wall.es filth all the way here, and he was damned if he didn't get her cleaned up. As he fell, Mo also reflected that he was damned if he did get her cleaned up- he had been enjoying pursuing and cleaning up Wall.es dirt trails. Mo landed on the runway between the trash heaps and the airlock, and spotted Wall.e in the airlock. To Mos astonishment, Wall.e was pinned in place inside one of the massive trash cubes, and E.v.e. was trying to pull her out of the cube. He charged at the doors, rolling towards them as fast as his wheel could carry him, roller stuck out in front of him, eyes locked on Wall.e. In his single minded charge, Mo completely failed to spot the closing Airlock doors. They slammed shut on him, causing a massive blast of air- an explosive decompression- to happen, which blew individual pieces of trash out of the ship with the cubes, and forced E.v.e. to fly against a stream of debris, Wall.e held tightly in one arm. Mo was now panicking, he had gotten himself into a very sticky situation by charging when he did... he then panicked even more and screamed when E.v.e. grabbed his roller, and used it to help keep herself and Wall.e from being blown out into space. Mos scream and the explosive decompression alerted the Wall.as to the situation, and one of them punched a large button with their massive, spade like hand. The outer airlock doors slammed shut, and the decompression stopped. Wall.e and E.v.e. fell to the floor, and Mo, still trapped in the doors, let out a rattled, "Woah!"

The Wall.as gathered around Wall.e, E.v.e., and Mo, their massive spotlight like heads pointed down at the trio. In the glare of the floodlights, Mo busily cleaned Wall.e of every last speck of dirt he could find. E.v.e. tended to her injured mate, checking her over for fresh wounds. Finding none, E.v.e. turned her attention to Wall.es earlier wound. Wall.e herself had been severely weakened by the injury, and sitting up against the cow catcher of a Wall.a was all she could do. E.v.e. pried open the panel over Wall.e's heart core, and pulled the core out, examining it closely. Wall.es heart core was intact, though the heart core beat fast, weakly, and irregularly. E.v.e. had suspected that this was the case- the heart cores hadn't been made to take sudden electrical explosions of that magnitude and keep functioning normally. E.v.e. would have to find a way to reset the heart cores beat or replace Wall.es heart core. In the meantime, Wall.e would have to rely on her organic heart to keep going. E.v.e. then pulled out and examined Wall.es motherboard- which was tucked behind her heart core. The motherboard was damaged- it had a hole burned through it, and multiple burns besides that one, not to mention the circuitry was sparking erratically. E.v.e. stared at the damaged motherboard in silence, and guessed that this was at least half the reason Wall.e had been so badly injured. E.v.e. flew off to look for possible replacement motherboards in the trash heaps.

When she returned, E.v.e. found Mo sitting next to Wall.e, who had been decently cleaned up by him while E.v.e. had been searching for replacement motherboards. She watched as Wall.e weakly offered her hand, and groaned, "Wall.eee..." Mo cleaned her hand, and they shook hand and roller, Mo saying, "Mo." in response to Wall.e introducing herself. E.v.e. watched as Wall.e weakly cocked her head, and repeated, "...Mo?" Mo confirmed, "Mo", and then turned away to think about something that seemingly weighed down on his mind. E.v.e. now approached Wall.e, holding several motherboards in one hand. She showed Wall.e one, and Wall.e shook her head. It was the wrong model of motherboard. E.v.e. showed Wall.e the next motherboard in the stack, and Wall.e again shook her head. E.v.e. tried this with every motherboard she had found, and Wall.e rejected every single one of them as being the wrong model. Desperate, E.v.e. sighed, and tried to think about what to do next. Wall.e popped open her trash compactor, and pulled out the plant, which was still safe despite the escapades it had been through. Wall.e held the plant out to E.v.e., saying, "Dir...ect...ive..." who gently took the plant from her and stared at it. E.v.e.'s scanner again identified the plant as a Western Red Cedar Seedling, and again she felt the urge to deliver the plant to Captain McCrea. E.v.e. continued to stare at it, and then threw the plant away, holding up one paw, and spreading her fingers towards Wall.e. E.v.e. replied, "Directive", and then held her hand out, offering to hold hands with Wall.e. Wall.e grasped her hand for a moment, and then pushed E.v.e.'s hand away. She dragged herself towards the plant with her arms, and picked it back up, saying, "Directive. Plant. Earth." E.v.e. took a moment to process what Wall.e had just told her, repeating, "Earth?", then shouted, "Earth!" as she finished processing what Wall.e had just told her. She grabbed Wall.e and adjusted her into a one armed bridal carry, Wall.e now clutching the plant tightly in both hands. Wall.e looked over her shoulder, and moaned, "Mo", and Mo replied, "Wall.e!', rolling towards Wall.e and E.v.e., and then hopping up and hooking onto Wall.es horns with his roller. E.v.e.s plasma cannon sprung out, and she aimed it at the ceiling, blasting the garbage chute directly above her. She then took off, carrying Wall.e and Mo back up to the main decks, and the Wall.as watched them leave, waving goodbye as their floodlight eyes tracked them up into the darkness.
