Description
This is a thought experiment regarding a way that at least one Iterator could find a way out of her can, continue to live on without having to worry about the continued degradation of said can, and become a lot more mobile/independent... all without having to break the self destruction taboo programmed into all iterators. If intelligent creatures from another world (such as Tracer) were to show up in Rainworld... at least theoretically, Iterators such as Looks To The Moon could modify their genetics/biology into suitable new hosts/"puppets" for the AI. They could then come up with some form of consciousness transferal system or some method of brain uploading technology, which would then allow them to take over, or else merge with the consciousness already present within that body. The new "puppet"/host would then act as a new, mobile hub for their consciousness, with the rest of the cans circuitry shutting down. The neuron flies, overseers, and inspectors would then leave the can, and follow the "puppet"/host around, settling into the same/surrounding shelters as the host, ect. This would also allow Iterators to directly interact with each other, as opposed to relying on a discord like social network.
As for Looks To The Moon/Tracer herself...
Looks To The Moon Gains:
Time Travel
Ace Piloting Skills
Ace Combat Skills
Functional Legs (Seriously! The original puppets legs aren't built for walking...)
Significant Amounts of Biological Components
Tracer Gains:
Biological Immortality (Assuming Tracer Didn't Already Have That...)
A Significant Boost To Her Ability To Recover From Injuries And Illnesses
Supercomputer Level Processing And Data Storage/Memory
Some Extra Cybernetic Implants, such as Antennae, An Extra Pair of Arms, A Zero-G Implant...
Heightened Bio-Electrical Conductivity (Heightened Bio-Electrical Resistance?)
Both also get a detriment from this merger, albeit one that is outweighed by the benefits: Looks To The Moon gets Chronal Disassociation, and Tracer gets the "No Self Destruction Taboo." Oh well, nothing a chronal accelerator implant and a little TLC can't fix... also, Ruffles is still Moon's pet, though she may acquire a few more...
