Description These are the design sketches for the assault rifle used by the stormtroopers in issue 2. Yes I am getting back to work on my comic, I've gotten almost nothing done since getting back to school because I've been dealing with WAY too much stuff. This is a modernised version of [link] the original design (That one was the Type 5).

If anyone ever wants me to do technical drawings of weapons or vehicles I DO do commissions...

Enjoy the gunny goodness.

I disagree with some of the above comments, and you could easily rationalize this design as being custom-made for a particular force or even limited in scope to a single world/system. Love it, but then again, I'm a gun whore.

Thats precisely what its designed for. I'm planning on doing a compilation of different Lasgun/autogun designs that I've done over the last few years and putting it up here for everyone to enjoy and pillage from no doubt.

And damn man, it that sounds painful. When a normal whore get "shot" all over its degrading, when a gun-whore gets "shot" all over they tend to die!

Looks very awesome, althrough I would 40kify it. Also, give it names like MK18-6INS Emperor's Retribution.

A techpriest who names his rifles in plain numbers, without honouring the Emperor must be corrupted by the foul Iron Warriors.

I was calling it a Plugger I think, thought I had written it but maybe not.

Also, read something on Space Marine Death Watch squads. They carry special ammo for special enemies, can be very inspiring on the ammo aspect.

Think of special "napalm" bolter rounds, or shatter-rounds...

Yeah, the deathwatch rules, though still legal (you can find them on the GW website I think) really need to be updated. When they first came out I thought that they were awesome, and they were, but the draw SO much fire when the deep strike that they die instantly most games, and they are too expensive. As for the different ammo types, if I recall the rules correctly its:
Inferno Bolts (Ironically thousand's sons CSMs have a rule with the same name but entirely different rules.): re-roll wounds
Kraken Penetrator: Range 30", Str 4, AP 4, rapid fire (By far the best.)
Stalker Silencer and M.40 Targeter: Range 24", Str 4, AP 5, Heavy 2 pinning
Frag Bolts: Range 12, str 3, AP 6, Assault 2

As I said, their rules need an update. Codex: Alienhunters is way overdue!

Read the eisenhorn trilogy and you'll understand that the 40k universe is far more diverse than the model range.

Certainly there's a lot more to the 40K universe than the limited model range, but this particular design feels too contemporary to me, in particular the RIS isn't likely to exist unchanged after 38,000 years, also it seems kinda light, with the bullpup layout and stripped-down appearance, Imperial technology does vary, yes, but it does lean toward brute power and mass-production, which would be reflected in heavy, bulkier weapons. Great design, but not for 40K
