No, not the real one, but pretty dang close! This here is Hachiko (Hachi for short) my friend's Japanese Akita. (They come in "American versions" as well, two separate breed types).Anyways, we did a little shooting outside with two of her dogs, however the only time she could was at night because of school and homework, so we did.
May I say that taking pictures outside in nighttime is DIFFICULT! I am well aware that this isn't professional worthy photography, no need to remind xD
Amanda has two Akita's, so I'll most likely submit the other pictures later.

Akitas are beautiful; since they are of the spitz family of dogs like huskies and malamutes, I wonder if they could make good sled dogs?

En fait, je n'en seulement vu quelques un de mes propres yeux! Il y a un seul élevage répertorié au Québec... à ce que je sais! Donc, oui on peut dire qu'ils sont rare par chez nous

Me neither, but the American Akitas have different markings/colourings, that's how I recognize them

not only are the colors different, but the american types have had mastiff bred into them as well (i believe i heard that somwhere, anyways), either way, they're a bit stockier.

anyways, this dog is gorgoues! personally i think akita inus are much prettier and much more oriental-looking! :]
