Description Well, since I'm back on dA, I wanted to put a picture of one of my dogs, and also a picture that I really liked. This one, is a plain ol' picture of my very first breeding bitch, Ouzo. She was 9 in this picture, and she passed away at 14, this year.

I have had many labs as a child, but this Ouzo was my foundation bitch for Working Champions and her death really touched. She was a great dog! Getting her champion title at a very young age, getting qualified for best bitch 1999-2002-2005.

I miss her a lot, and she was a very good bitch to start my lines, she's produced over 40 champions, two being in my breeding program today!

gorgeous bitch <3 especially at that age, i rarely see any nice older labs, what type of lines was she from? did she do any field work? sorry for asking lots of questions, i'm just curious! haha, i know a lot of golden people - from the confo ring, agility ring, and field trial area.

sorry for your loss, she's really a beaut! wish I could have had such a nice dog haha <3

Thank you! She comes from working lines, but I managed to get her a good champion title, quite surprising actually. She did field work, of course

Very cool! I rarely see any good working bred labs winning in the ring, so it's great that you actually had a nice one! -sigh- most people just stop breeding for working ability and just breed for lap dogs and couch potatoes..

I tend to try and pick good conformation when I can in my working dogs, I like to know they could get some wins in the rings and not a DQ. And that's very true, I don't see the point :/

Oh, she's just gorgeous, and what an impressive list of accomplishments haha. Breeding has always interested me, though for now I just stick to breeding virtual dogs on my simulation games xD

It's fun to see your lines get better and better. It can be hard, because most of the time its trial and error, but once your started, and do what you can, you are sure to get good results

My dog passed away in July of last year, I don't have any dogs at the moment I do have a parrot though, and am planning to adopt a dog in the next few years

I'm terribly sorry for your loss! If you don't mind me asking, what was your dog's breed and name? And parrots sound so cool! Are they easy to maintain? I'm seriously thinking of getting myself one. And that's great! Hope you find your dream dog

She was an English Cocker Spaniel named Velvet
My turn, how many doggies do you have?

Not easy, lots of cleaning and socializing But I do find a parrot easier to train and take care of than a dog

aww, I love the English Cocker spaniels, especially black and whites with ticking

I haveee... 13 [ Plus two on their way]
[and that's not including in-kennel training and the dogs I foster for the shelter]
9 being labradors, 4 being German Shepherd dogs and the others are mutts I train and a foster a variety of breeds though x)

Ohh, I'll def. need to continue my research on them
