The door handles look like eyes and makes the room look more mysterious. I don't know if that was your intent, but it looks cool nonetheless

They're actually that colour because I hadn't put colours for the handles in the palette yet so just used my fire colours (never got around to drawing the fire though). But laziness aside I actually like how they look as they are, for the reasons you gave.
