really nice map design, i like the flag's colours and the round symbol in the middle, which is a direct nod to the hindu/indian flag's symbol (since most of the gypsies/roma people originate from india), and also a vague reference to the wagon's wheel, meaning that the gypsies/roma people are ''always moving'', like a cart-wagon. (hence the wheel symbol).

nice colours, and a cool design in general.

a map of ''gypsystan''(or maybe, ''romanistan''?) would be nice.

nice alternate-history map.
very cool design, keep up the good work.

Not all Gypsies are called Roma.
Even the reason some are called Roma is because they come from Romania.
And yet many countries are called in one way, but the countries themselves self-call themselves in a different way.

Georgia - Sakartvelo
Armenia - Hayastani Hanrapetut'yun
Albania - ShqipΓ«ria
Germany - Deutschland
China - Zhōngguó

It probably would be called something different, as "Gypsy" is a vaguely pejorative term.

Gypsies is not an offensive name.
An pejorative name for the Gypsies is, for example, "Mangasari", which means "a person with dark skin and bad behavior" or "black skined"

Hmm... Must be the "euphemism treadmill". Regardless, I'd think "Romanistan" would be more likely chosen.

It is not the right name for the Gypsies, themselves to call themselves in a different way
- Gyptyans (coming from the Egyptians) - in the Western Balkans
- Domba - in India
- Domi - in North Africa and the Middle East
- Loma / Bosha - in the Caucasus
- Mango (though it is insult) - in Bulgaria
- Roma / Romany - in Eastern Europe
- Gypsies - in Eastern and Western Europe and parts of North America

Well, any of those other names could be used as well, but I guess Gypsy is the most common. So, Gypsystan is fine.Β

The people are called the Roma/Romani on the Wikipedia article and in many cultural organizations (like the World Romani Congress), so I assumed if not the most common, it is the most respected name.

i agree with GrantExploit here: i think that the term ''romanistan'' would be more appropriate and correct, due to the reason that the gupsy/roma people are calling themselves ''roma'' , and as such, the correct name for their country would be ''romanistan'', which literally means ''the country of the roma''.

ofcourse the name ''gypsy/gypsies'' comes from the falsely applied name ''gyptyans'', meaning ''coming from egypt'', and it was used in most of the balkans in order to describe the gypsies/roma people, but in reality, the gypsies didnt come from egypt: they arrived from poor regions of india, and they belonged in the class of the ''untouchables'', which was the lowest class in the caste(class) system of india.
the ''untouchables'' class is called ''athiggani'' in hindu(indian language), which explains why some people are calling them ''thiggan'' or ''tsiggans''.

but yeah, romani people/romanistan would be the best course of action.

nice alternate-history map.
very cool design, keep up the good work.
