Left most is a ancient Imperial “Marine”. Only images exist. These soldiers were used prior to planetfall, and all but disappeared afterwards, along with most of the technology used to create them. Legends persist of ancient stashes, or even survivors living in the Deathband.

Middle is an Imperial Remnant rifleman, loyal to the Hanza Daimyo. In the years after reawakening, a great calamity swept over the struggling imperial colony. Little is known as to what it was, perhaps the death of a leader, or a sickness, but what is known is that it split the empire. The once semi-prosperous nation fractured into warring states, the Hanza chief among them. This condition preceded for centuries, as Daimyo’s rose and fell, only to be replaced, or resurrected. Technology was lost at an astounding rate. The pictured soldier is from the late feudal period, and has already resorted to wooden armor, a mainstay of modern imperial soldiers. His weapon- a mostly salvaged pump-action rifle- is now incredibly rare. The blue cloak and markings show his allegiance.

Finally, the rightmost soldier is from modern times. The clans have united- however shaky the current peace is- and technology is no longer being lost. However, very little of the Imperial Remnants great edge in technology over the locals remains, this soldiers breach-loaded musket a testament to that. Her white on red markings show her aligned to the Tachikama Daimyo, a fundamentalist group, explaining why she lacks a melee weapon.
