Wow, I love this, not the least because it is a scene not commonly illustrated. Scatha is somehow just as I imagined him. My only criticism is that Fram seems to lack motion somehow.

Great! Don't be too hard on yourself, though. It is already a fantastic piece as is.

Thanks! That was my idea indeed. Receiving the blow and bracing his spear against the rocks.

you ARE a real dragon slayer ! you've got the knowledge for it !
As always, I love your style, the scales of the drawing must have been long to draw. It is a great drawing (the only point would probably be the character who seems a little bit too "fixed" ...I don't know...)

Holy shit dude! Wow! I really like Scatha the Wyrm in this one. Somehow i'd still expect a bit more drama. I'll have to be blunt to make myself clear: Fram looks like: god damn, another wyrm sneaking from my rear left! Where do they keep coming from? Well ok, I'll just pop it cold quickly so I won't miss the faire in town So the point is, that in my humble opinion, he doesn't look scared enough. And I mean, even the great Turin Turambar the Wyrm-slayer was scared. Ain't that what courage is - being afraid and still doing what you gotta do? As a piece of art, the way you've put them fight each other, is very dramatic and visual - both heads facing each other from the golden ratios (guess you call it that in english). In art this works very well, yet in "real life" I wouldn't actually feel comfortable to turn my back to dragon's claws that close. But as it seems to bring good results, I have no quarrel Man, I really like your style and themes. The tongue of Scatha really brings the eugh-effect. Good job mate!

You really know how to surprise, W. So far I havent seen a single illustrations of Scatha the Dragon fighting with Fram. The story and fate of this warrior is very interesting, not to mention how it's related to Scathas pillaging in Grey Mountains...
And speaking of those creatures, one could say that arrogance and over-estimation might be the main causes of death among that race... Dragon, who beats armies, wont fear a lonely warrior; so its easy to imagine a hunter, who's maybe having experience of hunting bears, waiting with spear for dragon to make the head-on assault. And you're right with the "one try" idea, for sure. A chainmail wont be scratched by rocks, nor branches...
Very detailed, like usual. Your way to draw sceneries, to illustrate environment, is extremely good. I can see the cold, rocky hills and cliffs out there. Colours add the chill feeling.

I think I agree with your own comment, maybe a little refinemnet, I feel the figure looks very detailed and fined in comparison to for e.g the dragons claws and spikes. But I think it's well on it's way and will look fantastic if you resolve these few small issues.
