Description Started as an environment sketch in Photoshop.

Um, those are supposed to be giant lily pads, but their scale to the rest of the picture makes whole picture look a bit odd. Guh.

Weird! This showed up ten days after you uploaded it! I thought you were in trouble. =O But judging by this painting, you were simply riding around on your water horse.

eh, I tried to play it cool, but I meant bread crumbs.

funky. the "k" and the "d" are no where near each other on the keyboard.
roar typos.

oh wow, it's so peaceful.
the color of the water is always changing, it's beautiful.
the view of the background is so pretty, too.
it all just kinda flows together. I like it.

I can just picture a little girl feeding nessie some break crumbs. |D

the atmosphere in this is fantastic, love how still the water looks and the print-like pattern of the lilypads, the misty hills in the distance is so evocative, stunning stuff!

I think the giant lily pads look fine, the only thing that you could do if your unhappy with there scale is to reduce the size of the ones across the center of the pic and also extend them further into the background, making them smaller as they go. I really like the hills and the boat.

puppyShaker [2007-11-21 09:54:18 +0000 UTC]

Dunno; they LOOK like giant lily pads to me, although maybe if the scale was a bit more gradual? (Ugh, did that make sense?)

I'm REALLY diggin' the lily pads, and how some are transparent (...err, under the water?), and the yellow specks are beautiful. The water looks very amazing too

Everything looks very serene; I think my favorite part of the scenery is the natural bridge-thing to the left *_*

I think it's pretty, the lily pads do kind of throw it off because of the sea monsters positioning, mostly it makes the monster look tiny. But otherwise the colors and over all perspective looks great. Very soothing :d

wredwrat In reply to stacynina [2007-11-21 02:31:45 +0000 UTC]

Deep perspective baffles me, and I've been staring at this picture and trying to figure out what doesn't look right about it. I think it's the scale of the lily pads and the background elements, with the monster somewhere in between the lot of them. @__@

Thanks though, glad you like it!

stacynina In reply to wredwrat [2007-11-22 06:28:29 +0000 UTC]

I think it's the monster XD at a different perspective as the other two, but it one matched one or the other. But absoluely wonderful still X3 <3

the lily pads drew me in! at first glance i thought the thumbnail was a photo orz. i love the colours and how deep and calm the lake looks.

abot the perspective, the lily pads at the bottom (closest to viewer) are not noticeably bigger than the lily pads in the middle of the pic (farther away). they do diminish in size if i look closely, but not by a great deal. if the size of the lily pads grew dramatically smaller from bottom to center, especially as they approach Nessie, that might help achieve the sense of persepctive you were looking for

wredwrat In reply to hhhwei [2007-11-21 16:11:48 +0000 UTC]

Oh, thanks for the advice! Yes I think that's the key to the perspective problem, the size gradation of the lily pads.
Glad you dig the pic!

Very cool
