Description (Yeah, I did some photo enhancing. )

I love fens, bogs and forest pools. I shall tell you why.
As you all know I am from the Netherlands, a country with lots of water in and surrounding it. And it has always been like that. The inhabitants of the Nether Lands (that's why it's so wet!) have always fought against it, and tried to live with it.
But it was not always possible...
Fens, bogs and the like are the kind of nature which can be very dangerous to man. You can't say what lies beyond, what lies beneath and above all what foul creatures are living in there and are waiting for you to walk in their traps...
Since thousands of years people have been catious for these types of nature, but they also cherised it; in means of offerings. You will find them where these wetlands can be found. From the Netherlands, to Great Brittain, Denmark and even the southern parts of Sweden, all of them with their characteristic findings. (And the most known of all; the famous bog bodies... )
Still people nowadays are not sure why people sacrificed precious goods like axe-heads, swords and other high-above-the-standard goods. Even humans...

But perhaps you can decide for yourself why people did it.

I can.

-Wulfhaer.

These three pictures are the beginning of a series of fens found in the Netherlands. They are made to 'taste' the atmosphere of it...

Interesting. In the part of France where i live now, near Bordeaux (south east coast), it's mostly wetlands but people managed to learn and develop, build stuff. But they didn't do it on their own. Someone showed them how to.
And guess who that was? The Dutch!

HEY! There are lots and loads of things like these all over northern sweden too you know! They´re called "myr" and "träsk" here. Not with sacrifices maybe but they´re twice as big. Cool pictures, the "bog bodies" are just too fascinating! Especially the one with his throat slit. They´re so creepely well preserved!

Cool. Great picture, great enhancing. The more close things we have (spiritualy speking) in México are the mayan cenotes, where they send their offerings tho Xibalba, the Underworld.

Great place also, the netherlands are realy cool!
