Description I finally set up the studio again today, so I thought I'd do something for the holiday. For those who aren't from the United States, today, July 4th, is the day we celebrate our independence. It's usually a day filled with picnics and outdoor fun with fireworks in the evening.

I saw that ^superkev posted a flag this morning (he's from Canada), so I was inspired to do my own.

For those who are celebrating, enjoy the 4th!

Very cool idea, and great execution. This composition has a multiple-universe kind of vibe to it. The little, out-of-focus beads of water really give it the depth, energy and authenticity this pic needs. You could even subvert the meaning from patriotism to a creepy 'Big Brother is Everywhere' to which US are you from. What kind of water repelent did you have on the glass surface to get it to bead up so perfectly?

It's very similar to the technique I used for Juicy . This time I used Rain-X on the sheet of Lexan. The drops beaded up nicely, but the Rain-X made them more uniform in size then they were on the plain sheet of Lexan. I doubt if I'll be trying this setup again, but maybe the advice will help someone else.
