Yet you all come to us young people for hope, how dare you?!
You have stolen my dreams in my childhood with your empty words, yet I´m one of the lucky ones.
People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing, we are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth, how dare you?!
For more than 30 years the science helping crystal-clear. How dare you continue to look away and come here saying that you are doning enough when the politics and solutions needed are still nowhere in sight?!
You say you hear us and that you understand the urgency, but no matter how sad and angry I am, I don not want to believe that, because if you really understood the situation and still kept on failing to act, than you would be evil and that I refuse to believe!
The popular idea of cutting our emissions in half in 10 years only gives us a 50% chance of staying below 1.5 degrees and the risk or setting of irreversible chain reactions beyond human control. 50% may be acceptable to you but those numbers do not include tipping points, most feedback loops, additional warming hidden by toxic air pollution on the ascpects of equity and climate justice. They also rely on my generation sucking hundreds of billions of tons of your CO2 out of the air with technologies that barely exist. So a 50% risk is simply not acceptable to us, we who have to live with the consequences!
To have 67% chance of staying below a 1.5 degreese of global temperature rise the best odds given by the IPCC the world had 420 gigatons of CO2 left to emit back on January 1st 2018. Today that figure is already down to less than 350 gigatons. How dare you pretend that this can be sold with just business as usual and some technical solutions?! With today´s emissions levels that remaining CO2 budgets will be entirely gone within less than eight and a half years. There will not be any solutions or plans presented in line with these figures here today, becaus these numbers are too uncomfortable and you are still not mature enough to tell it like it is!
You are failing us but young people are starting to understand your betrayal! The eyes of all future generations are upon you and if you choose to fail us, I say: We will never forgive you! We will not let you get away with this! Right here, right now is where we draw the line! The world is waking up and change is coming, whether you like it or not!"

This is a speedpaint of 3/4 hours and completely spontaneous work, after I was unbelievably impressed by Greta Thunberg's speech. This girl has my highest deference and respect and I do not care how many people will hate or diswatchen me for this statement!
Here is a little step by step:
I will not have any discussions with people who think they have to insulting and fooling or writing bullshit! These comments will be banned!
To anyone Information: I am aware that Greta is used as a face and flagship figure, but anyone who thinks she would not want it herself, or anyone who say, her emotion would be played, ... better not try to comment here, because I HAVE INCIDENTALLY THE SAME EMOTIONS OR EVEN IN GREATER INTENSITY!
Any alleged psychiatrist who believes a person could not perceive the problems of the world as their own pain in the soul should go back to school and should learn something about EMPATHY again!
For all the people who are upset that she has rehearsed and have to take looks at her notes ... WTF! YES, OF COURSE!!! She is not a person who has studied to speech free without notes, just as you probably could not! Imagine yourself in front of such an audience, without rehearsed what you want to say or without the security of a note! You would fail badly to say what you want!
Yes - we do not save the world alone with CO2 reduction!
Yes - climate protection is not all that is at stake and we have a lot of problems that need to be tackled together!
Yes - all this works only globally and with uncomfortable victims but not when a few idiots have to be lazy, money-hungry and selfish!
And EXACTLY THAT is why EVERYONE has to do something and even if it was to eat less meat and to dispense with plastic or just not to drive a totally meaningless swank-car!
Words alone have never reached the responsibles and will not. They will not react until it affects themselves, but it will only be too late when the rest of the world has already turned to hell! The only thing that can save us are emotions, public actions and very clear accusations! And that is exactly what Greta is doing and I wish there were more people who have the courage to speak and do so much in public and in high places what needs to be said and done in every detail!
Time is over to speak ... it is need to act!
If they don´t act, I think time will be over for greenpeace ... sadly now I see greenwar is coming!

Herzlichen Dank für deinen Kommentar, ich antworte mal auf deutsch da mir englisch einfach zu viele Nerven raubt gerade.
Ich finde die dreiste Doppelmoral aller fortschrittlichen Länder furchtbar, das betrifft nicht nur Deutschland. Es müssten wirklich alle in die Verantwortung genommen werden, damit wir noch irgend etwas retten können. Ganz egal ob es um das Klima geht, um Luftverschmutzung oder die Säuberung der Meere und Flüsse, Waldrodungen oder um Recycling der untragbaren Müll-Gebirge sowie die drohende Vorherrschaft der multiresistenten Keime, Massenfolterung und Tötung von Tieren nur zum Billigpreis oder Massensuizid der Menschen aus fehlender sozialer Empathie und psychologischen Verfall der Gesellschaft für Profit oder sonst irgendwas.
Nichts, absolut NICHTS davon wird die Menschheit abschaffen können, wenn wir nicht endlich anfangen weniger egoistisch zu sein, und das zu egal wem und was! Wenn man Egoismus abschaffen will, muss man aber bei sich selbst anfangen, denn alles andere wäre eine lächerliche Lüge der Aussage ansich!

Leider ist das die Regel. Diese generelle Überheblichkeit, zu denken wir selbst würden uns aus dem Kreislauf der Natur herausheben, macht mich krank! Es rafft eben im Verhältnis kaum jemand, dass jede Aktion auch eine Reaktion verursacht und ALLES, auch wir selbst, in einem Kreislauf leben. Aber man ist erstaunt, dass man Mikroplastik in der menschlichen Muttermilch findet.
Da kann man nurnoch hoffen, dass irgendwelche schlauen Leute bald die Nanotechnologie so weit verfeinert haben, um all das schädliche Zeug aus der Natur, aus den Tieren und aus uns wieder heraus zu bekommen! Und ja es gibt tatsächlich Forschung und erfolgsversprechende Experimente dazu, das macht mir wirklich große Hoffnung, dass wir in 100 Jahre eben doch noch da sein könnten und das in einer heileren Natur.

What I'm saying is: ALSO WE ALL have to do something, not only China and Co.! And we have created all this crap, what China and Co. now uses and repeats our mistakes! So we have to set a good example and use all our much greater experience and time in dealing with all these sins to make things better and thus help China and everyone get away from all this crap, because that's how they become alone can not manage. Not even we got it right in 200 years, how could they do it?

That they have not been wrong, we see now. What the opponents still do not understand is the difference between man-made climate change and the normal, always existing climate change. Nature only blows up all the damaging crap out of the earth in the case of volcanic eruptions, but that only happens in intensity and short time every few million years. In 200 years, however, we have thrown all the crap that the earth has not actually contributed into its normal climate change into the environment, and thus we are massively influencing the naturally existing climate change, because according to the research we should actually rather heading for another ice age and not the opposite! What we have dug up and burned would NOT actually be there and therefore we are responsible for what is going on! Of course, unfortunately, the developing countries are the biggest sinners, but they are not called "developing countries" for nothing. We, who have the money, are not given a good example and do nothing to make those countries do better than we did! So nobody should be surprised that they do not! We have to get the ass up and start and then pull everyone else! WE!
And even then, not everything will stop, because our mistakes will continue to impact on the environment for hundreds of years BUT we can lessen it and prevent the worst that threatens us. At any rate, denying anyone what happens in the world does not help! At least useless flying around in times of Internet communication, as well as factory farming, careless use of pesticides and antibiotics, plastic and forest clearing finally prohibit, should at least be possible if everyone would work together.
For decades no one has listened to all the warnings and speeches, now no one has to complain about it then the patience in the end and is now clearly accused and stirred by emotions, the people awake, that monocultures, factory farming, consumption on the conditions and Not only humanity, but also nature and wildlife poisoned and annihilated. We can not go on and everyone has to start to realize that without sacrifices on our side, there will be too many sacrifices on the part of nature and animals and the destitute and poor people. The rest of humanity and of the planet, of course, does not matter any profit-horny people who hide everything else around them and live comfortably in their Vila, and that selfishness makes me sick! You should take a look at world maps, which clearly show how much land we have already lost due to the rising water level. There are countless reports of islanders and their inhabitants who now every year have to flee from the sea and soon have to leave the islands altogether. The same happens on enough coasts.
And that we are exposed to a forest dying by warmer climate and the resulting fires or insect infestation, the trees can not oppose anything, we see very clearly even in Germany! Such idiots, who think you would also have to put extra fires or cut down trees to get short-term capital, I would like to curse!
It's just wrong to say that would not happen, because there are enough studies and reports and pictures to prove it! And please do not come with some stupid conspiracy theories that it's ALL fake. I will not give any platform to this crap here and delete it.
And as I said, before WE, who have the power, make any fuss, and expect others to do something, even though they do not have the resources and the progress, WE should just finally, and above all at first get our ass up and start with it!

You have some real approaches, but you do not see the complexity humanity is in now compared to a world in which it did not exist! We are there and exactly BECAUSE the world is constantly changing and balancing, we have to make sure that we contribute our part to it, because otherwise we will not be there very soon because the world will have balanced us away!
The world does not care what we do, it could wipe us out with just a few natural phenomena. In a few centuries nature and wildlife would recover, but WE would not be there anymore. The point, however, is that we still are, and do not want to allow the annihilation of us, as well as the destruction of what we need to survive! But the world is just balancing out because we demand too much for ourselves.
It does not matter that the earth has "always" regulated and changed itself, because that's exactly what threatens us if we do not adapt. So we have nothing to say that we do not have to do anything massive, because we MUST adapt ourselves, otherwise we are soon really in danger, as well as quite a few plants and animals before us, just could not adapt quickly enough to this changing world! And this changes are much more faster than anything has happend before!
YES China, India, Africa etc MUST do something ... but to say that America, Europe, Asia, Russia etc do not have to do something is just alien and selfish!
We had much more time to enjoy the sins that were there and to see what was wrong with them. To expect a change from those who had less time first is just selfish! You would not expect a child to do anything better from the mistakes that you have lived or are still experiencing!
If we go ahead and develop technologies that make a difference, then the other countries will have a greater chance of catching on and implementing them despite less development and less time!
The progress and prosperity of our countries is built on the sins of our own past. We were the sinners of the past and we should not be tempted by the sinners of the Now to expect to atone for our sins! The time will come when everybody will have to move on, yes, but WE have to start because WE had enough time to learn and WE have the money and the possibilities!

I threaten censorship, not because you have a different opinion, otherwise I would have censored long ago. No, I do it because your words was personally offensive, but I hope that does not happen again. Otherwise, you are someone with whom I can discuss (although it is very difficult for me in English) and you seem to see the problems and not completely deny and want to continue to want to continue as before, as some others unfortunately do it.
I do not think developing countries have the technical advances to keep up with what we COULD develop. But let's suppose that would be so ... even then these countries would be back in time and would have to go through the process for which we had 100-200 years in much less time. And that is certainly not as easy as what we could do and not comparable to the experience we have. The whole thing must first transfer and arrive! And not just from somewhere ... no, just from us!
We have exemplified this behavior and caused the problems, so it is also up to us to eliminate our problems and to change ourselves, so that we can live it and pass it on!

Unfortunately it's not just the CO2. It is very likely that in 30 years more people will die from multidrug-resistant germs than people with cancer today. Did you know that any pharmaceutical industry stopped research on antibiotics in 2018? In 20 years we will be shot back to the Middle Ages as far as operations are concerned, because some idiots thought that for decades it would be tipping tons of antibiotika at animals instead of just using it in an emergency. As you said with the plastic ... this is NOT future! They already found mikroplastic in every part of environment around us and even IN OUR BODIES as well in our breast milk! In a few years' time, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea, and no livelihood, much less drinking water in equatorial regions! The coastal cities either destroyed by environmental disasters or so overpopulated by humans that criminacy or epidemics will tackle the problem!
And in this country you complain about a few million refugees and howls when the bio-electricity is more expensive or wind turbines are built ... it pisses me off so much that everyone just want to cry and not make their own sacrifices! What will they all look stupid if not a few million but two thirds of humanity is on the run and wants to go somewhere! It's going to be a war and for the first time it will not be a war of greed for land or money. No, it's going to be a matter of survival! And I do not understand how one can not recognize that!

Yes, you did not. But that depends directly on the other problems that the planet unfortunately has as well CO2 problems. And yes, I completely agree with you. It is sad that ordinary people without power have to go out on the streets to tell the few people with power and influence what their responsibility is. No matter if any company or politics. They all have to build new systems and plans and we have ideas of new systems and plans, but they are afraid to become unpopular because it will not work without victims. I only hope that at least will be seen by ordinary people and maybe we will also bring those responsible finally to rethink with mass strikes. I don´t think that they will do anything without mass strikes, screams, tears and accuse.
