A friend of mine told me he preferred Tales of Symphonia 2 than Tales of Symphonia 1... I couldn't believe my ears, but well, anyone can have a different opinion bla bla bla...So here is a fanart for Tales of Symphonia the 1st, based on a drawing by Kaori Yuki [link] for her manga Angel Sanctuary (go read it now if you haven't).
I know the picture is blurry, you can ask my scanner why.
Made in more than 8 hours with colorpencils and photoshop. Download for the original size (so that you can see the blurry parts better XD).

C'est très sympa, même si je connais pas les personnages. Mais le gars en rouge me rappelle un peu Karol habillé en Dart de Legend of Dragoon XD En tout cas chapeau pour dessiner autant de persos à la fois. J'ai rarement le courage de faire autant !

En tous les cas merci beaucoup pour ce commentaire ^^ et c'est clair que c'est pas évident de faire beaucoup de personnages, surtout que j'ai pas beaucoup de patience en fait XD généralement, je suis très enthousiaste quand je fais mes contours, ma motivation commence à faiblir quand j'en ai fait 70%, et pour la couleur, j'ai toujours plein d'idées et d'application au départ, et quand j'ai passé 3 heures dessus, je me dépêche pour finir parce que j'en peux plus. Au final, j'aime rarement mes dessins parce que je m'en suis dégoutée avant de les terminer.

Si, ça fait longtemps que tu es partie, tu nous as manqué (sans rire) ! J'allais t'envoyer un mail pour prendre quelques nouvelles d'ailleurs XD mais je n'ai pas eu à le faire puisque tu es là maintenant !
Hum, disons que pour ces nouveaux dessins, j'ai souvent eu une image de référence, alors c'est sûr qu'il y a moins de problèmes de proportion/perspective tout ça ! Mais peut-être que je me suis améliorée, je ne sais pas (le scanner lui par contre va de mal en pis !)
Et pour Regal, désolée, vu que j'ai repris un dessin de Kaori Yuki, il n'y avait pas assez de place pour lui ^^' de même que pour Raine d'ailleurs.

C'est vrai que le temps a passé vite, j'étais tellement occupée que je m'en suis pas vraiment rendu compte, mais quand j'y repense, c'est quand même depuis le mois de janvier!
Même au-delà de l'image de référence, je vois une amélioration dans ta technique de façon globale. Il y a vraiment un petit quelque chose de plus fini, plus raffiné qu'avant. Continue sur cette voie!
Oh en passant, si t'en as envie, est-ce que ça te dirait qu'on poursuive la tradition de nos échanges de dessin de fête cette année?

Oui pour moi aussi c'est passé très vite, mais vu que je suis tous les jours sur deviantart et que j'ai quand même eu le temps de faire quelques dessins, je me suis bien rendue compte que quelqu'un manquait à l'appel T_T

2e: Ghirahim. À moins que je ne me trompe, je ne t'ai pas encore vue le dessiner (j'ai un vague souvenir qu'on devait faire un genre de collab sui lui un moment donné, mais ça ne s'est pas concrétisé).
3e: Libra, de Awakening (as-tu joué au jeu finalement?). C'est lui que j'ai marié

1: Richard de Tales of Graces f ! Tu l'habilles avec les vêtements que tu préfères, ça me dérange pas ^^
2: Duke de Tales of Vesperia (tu remarqueras au passage comme mes choix sont variés XD quoi qu'il arrive, y a toujours de longs cheveux à dessiner !)
3: Sheena de Tales of Symphonia. C'est mon personnage féminin favori ever !
Excuse-moi de pas être très originale, ça fait que du tales là ^^' si ça te dérange, n'hésite pas à me le dire pour que je te trouve autre chose, c'est juste que je suis pas très inspirée pour l'instant et que je ne vais pas te demander de dessiner quelque chose que tu ne connais pas !

Ah c'est dommage, moi je l'aime bien! D'ailleurs je ne peux plus m'arrêter d'y jouer, même si je l'ai terminé je continue et continue, je fais les batailles random sur la carte et les batailles contre les persos des anciens jeux dans le bonus wi-fi machin

XD Richard peut être intéressant à faire par sa personnalité, Duke peut être intérssant à faire parce qu'il est sexy babe, et Sheena peut être intéressante à faire parce que je ne dessine pas souvent des filles. Et bien, j'ai bien aimé la première partie, jusqu'à Valm. Je me suis arrêtée de jouer au chapitre 19. Je pensais que le scénario serait plus long et qu'il y aurait vraiment des conspirations, une guerre, bref du FE quoi ! Bien sûr qu'il a de bons points, mais il se démarque trop des autres FE sur le plan scénario (beaucoup moins complexe), il est plus accès tout public, c'est dommage ! Mais bon, c'est pas grave, j'ai regardé mon frère le terminer. Mais c'est vrai que la présence d'anciens persos de FE rend le jeu plus agréable, c'est juste bête qu'ils ne puissent pas avoir de soutiens entre eux ^^'
XD désolée de t'imposer un tel dilemme alors ! Et contente que ça ne t'ennuie pas de dessiner du Tales

I still consired Tales of Phantasia as the superior product to this day, Symphonia was nice and still hold up against is modern cousins but Phantasia is Phantasia

Well, I do like ToS: Tales of a New World quite a bit, the original has the better plot by far, but some parts of the actual game play are quite fun indeed. It is a little easier though, I ended up over levelling on quests and ended up beating the game rather easily on my own without my brother's help, we double teamed the first one and had a harder time of it the first time around. Of course, with me, a better game is one I can beat over one I can't. Game play is of course an important factor and must be weighed alongside plot. If you just wanted plot, you could watch a movie.

I can understand what you're saying, but Symphonia has lost something I can't describe with Dawn of the New World :/ The characters from the 1st game are only extra characters that cannot level up. And I can't stand Marta, so I didn't like the game much (besides as you said, it is far too easy!)

If you didn't like Marta, which I had no problem with, then I can see how the plot could be annoying.And yeah, it was very easy, so I can also see how that's a problem to lots of people, just not me. What I did like, was being able to recruit all those monsters however. Having Bears, Dragons, Wolves and other beasts on your team fighting for you was really fun for me.

Well, I find the tales series easy in general, but ToS 2 was far easier than the others (except Vesperia, maybe?).

Yes, fair enough, but I sometimes find myself less skilled when it comes to action RPGs, so I appreciate having an easier time sometime. Well, good to know I might not have a horrible time trying to beat Vesperia then. Yes, I did like the monster thing. I'm not saying it was a factor that drew me into it, but it was not unappreciated. Aiming for strong monsters was one of the more interesting things in the game for me, and it was perhaps my dedication to getting the strongest monsters I could at the time is what gave me such an easy time with the game, in which case, my ease was at least earned.
Hmm, I dunno, maybe it 's just to fill in the gaps of your party. The first in the series had a larger party, and the monsters help you fill it in. That seems to be more the case in ToS2, as the original characters weren't always in your party, so it helped fill in party slots them in when they left your party. I can't comment if it's a good ting in FFXIII-2, I never got so far since I never beat the original 13 and felt bad going very far not having finished the story. And what is ToX2? Is that the new Tales of Xilla? It already has a sequel?

It's quite the opposite for me, I'm only skilled at RPGs XD and yes, Vesperia is a piece of cake. Oh, I see for the monsters. As for me, I tried to play with the former characters only ^^'
That must be it. FFXIII lacked something... atmosphere and an interesting gameplay maybe, I understand you didn't finish it. Taming monsters was funnier in FFXIII-2 than in TOS 2 in my opinion. And yes, ToX is tales of Xillia, and yes it has a sequel already released in Japan

No, what I mean is that I have a harder time with the action based RPGs like Tales and Kingdom Hearts than I do with the turn based RPGS like Earthbound, Pokemon or older Final Fantasies. RPGs are some of the few games I'm actually good at. I can play some platformers and the Legend of Zelda series at times, but for example, with a fighting game, I need to set it on easy to get anywhere.
I liked the plot of FF 13 just fine. I'm not sure why I didn't get very far in it. I guess I wanted to play with my brother in case I got stuck, and I just haven't had many opportunities to do that sine he moved out. Another reals reason is I just end up buying more games than I have time to play, especially with all the time I spend on DA doing Art.
Hmm, well it's good to know the monster system in FF 13-2 is rather interesting.
Ahh, okay, I see then. I will have to give ToX a shot when it comes out, but right now I still have Vesperia and Graces to finish.

Yeah, I had a lot of issues with Chain of Memories, I couldn't get very far, even when I was using cheat codes (it wasn't that it was so hard even with cheats, but the cheats eventually glitched out), trying again without the cheats was difficult, even for my brother. I find that I do have problem with Kingdom Hearts, but some of them are not so hard. I had a rather easy time on Birth by Sleep on Easy mode, and I managed to beat 1 on my own. But for example, with Days, my brother had an easier time of the game on Hard than I did on easy while I was also cheating. Proves he was just better at it.
I know cheating diminishes the game play, but always loosing and having your progress stalled diminishes your game play even more. Sometimes, especially with games like this, you want to see the plot for yourself, and don't want to just read or watch a synopsis online, cheating is sometimes your only option. When nothing is at stake but your own enjoyment, and the options are cheat and move on with the plot, or loose continuously and then just give up on the game, then the option should be obvious (the 3rd option for others, get better and win, often isn't an option for me).
Anyway, thanks, I do hope I can move on with at least some of these games.

I have no problem with cheating when it comes to help you in the scenario! But I have the chance to have a brother who can beat every game easily so I don't have to cheat to see the end of the plot XD
And you're not the only one having troubles with Chain of Memories, but I very liked the gameplay and had only one gameover (against Riku).

Yeah. My brother also normally helps me on the harder games, but I can't rely on him since he moved out. I primarily only cheat on games to do things beyond just play through the plot. I can do just fine on most Pokemon games in terms of getting to and beating the elite four, but if I want certain rare Pokemon or certain moves or items, then I often resort to cheating.
I only really cheated with Chain of memories because the card system was so darned messed up it made game play unbearable. I was constantly lost and confused in battle and getting my butt kicked so much, I just had to find a way so that I could keep winning, regardless of how much I screwed up. With days, well, I dunno, I guess I should have done things the normal way, I think I went and tried to cheat because I knew I could.
I really liked the game play in BBS, merely having to wait to have your special moves reload on you was a more novel aspect than MP in my opinion.

Ahh, well it is impressive that you managed to beat that version of the game, eve if you have trouble with I & II. Yeah, Pokemon isn't so hard if you're just trying to beat the Elite Four or do standard Post game stuff. But trying to 'catch 'em all" or beat a battle frontier/Battle Subway/World Tournament can be frustrating and often requires help.
