Description finally got it done ^ ^ this is a tut on how to make photomanipulations in the GIMP. This tut is a simple one, I only used two stock images for this photomanipulation and very few filters. Textures, more blending, more light manipulation, and other stuff'll be covered in the next one
Also, ALWAYS FOLLOW THE STOCK RULES BY THE STOCKERS.

at the time that i made this tutorial, i did not have a tablet i have one now and it's a crappy little one i got from amazon for under 30$ i can't really recommend one persay, but i've heard that wacom bamboo tablets are well worth the money

KimHeiseArt In reply to Xadrea [2012-03-11 01:44:09 +0000 UTC]

thanks yes i looked at bamboo, but since I wrote that comment I have been overwhelmed by people encouraging me to get intuos instead. they say that way I wont have to upgrade later (if i ever get to that point ) but I think somewhere down the road ill want to get one of those cheap 30$ ones to travel with, (cuz I don't think I'll want to travel with something that cost me 400$!! D: ) so maybe that all will work itself out eventually

JAMsEye [2010-07-12 08:58:56 +0000 UTC]

I usually check this tutorial when it comes to erasing a background while trying to keep hairs intact. It's based on a hipass filter, i.e. sharpens differences and transitions. There might be a hipass filter available as a plugin now so it's worth giving it a try IMHO.

Xadrea In reply to JAMsEye [2010-07-12 13:07:19 +0000 UTC]

yup I know about those this particular tutorial is for the very basic beginners, so if the bg the model photo is in is solid color (which is why i suggested that), individual hairs will typically not be removed in the erasing process ^ ^ the photo i used was not against a uniform bg so i did a little more tweaking than just to using the fuzzy select and select by color

Kudos on the tutorial!! You explained the steps very well. I know you were limited on the space for the information, but the 9 - 10 pix type is very hard to read. I got out a magnifying glass and accidentally burned a llama icon. Lololol.
Really good job!

poor little llama...
sorry about the font, its really hard to fit everything in there even with the huge file size lol, i think if u download it you should be able to read everything in a more zoomed in way ^ ^, i think im going to have to make the height of these things bigger
