Thinking of a story planned for them: Elmer wants to impress Buttercup by taking part in sports and aims to become fit and strong like her, However the toll it takes on his body is immensely painful, making him weak, and aching in pain but he keeps on regardless to be a man. But it eventually causes him to collapse and when Buttercup finds out she talks it out with him, saying you don't have to impress me, you're already my best friend, what more can you want?" He replies " I want you" indicating he wants more than a friendship. Buttercup quickly hides away from her extreme blushing but finally says: "Well um, I don't wanna friend zone you. I mean you're really nice and and an absolute dork, but can we like- you know continue to hang out?"

"Yeah, of course." Elmer smiled but quickly frowned wistfully
I'm not friend zoning yo-" Buttercup back-pedalling
"Well what are we then?!" Elmer raised his voice, angry that all his work was for nothing.

I don't know.." Buttercup said, slowly starting to cry.

Elmer reaches out and hugs her tightly, slightly caressing her hair. Buttercup was utterly shocked, but slowly lowered her defenses.
I'm sorry I don't know this relationship stuff." Buttercup said, trying not to cry.
"Hey it's fine, you think I KNOW anything?"
"No"
"Exactly, don't worry I just got a little impatient. I just...... really like you."
"Thanks... just promise You won't do this again. I don't want you to get hurt..."

Whoa... that sounds amazing! I can picture it now~ I really like the dynamics, of Elmer doing what he can for her, even if she isn't ready. Patience is a virtue, you know? I like how it's pictured, and that even if it doesn't go the way he wants it too that doesn't mean he or she will give up.

Ahh, let's see... BC wanted to be a solo hero, but it was much more difficult then she anticipated. Elmer has tried helping her on many occasions, but she kept pushing him away and in the last battle she actually hit him, on purpose of course, what her slight anger issues.  The bad guy got away and he has decided to give up....
