And yes... Whenever a Solar overcomes great strife and adversity, they get stronger faster... (In this comic at least.)
This kind of represents how we did things when we played mixed exalt groups.
DB's and Lunars were given more xp than the solars to make sure that they kept up so the solars didn't steal the show all the time
(because whilst it doesn't bother me that much to be the side character, being the side character ALL THE TIME get's old if you wan't to play something other than solar.)
However, whenever the group managed to overcome a challenge we all got extra xp so kinda like overcoming adversity=more gain in power.

How I represent this extra gain in power for the exalted in this comic is kinda like this.

Solars.
Gain the least from just sitting around. Gains the most from overcoming great challenges.

Lunars.
Gain more than solars from just staying alive and also from narrowly escaping death. They also gain extra strength when working together with the solar they share a connection with.
Kind of explanation for why the many elder lunars and lunars in general just haven't banded together and roflstomped everyone.
Because they have had their power gain reduced for quite some time.
Not the best explanation nor an explanation that everyone will like, but it's what I have to give so...

Dragon-Blooded.
They have a consistent and steady increase in power.
This increase is affected by their "breeding".
If their charms didn't have the restrictions they have, they would be considered among the most powerful exalted.
The restrictions can and have been broken in a few cases...
