Weizhe was born into a rather poor family. Realizing that raising a child was too much, his parents abandoned him at some orphanage with a note saying to take care of him. And thus,Weizhe’s early life started in an orphanage.

Life was pretty much normal for Weizhe at the orphanage, until he turned 5. A new kid joined the orphanage at that time, a kid who often got himself into trouble while putting all the blame onto Weizhe. Unable to prove his innocence, he often got scolded instead of the actual troublemaker. The blame game lasted about a year until Weizhe felt fed up with the unfairness of everything and decided to flee the orphanage. For the whole day, he wandered about until he bumped into an Englishman who was demonstrating his hypnotism skill in public. The man understood Chinese, and he asked if Weizhe wanted to be a volunteer. Weizhe shook his head. However, he stayed to watch the demonstration. The demonstration mesmerized Weizhe, and he thought to himself, “Wouldn’t it be cool if I could do that one day?”

Once it was all over and the man was alone, Weizhe decided to approach the man, showing interest in his talent. The man introduced himself as Keith Lovell. He explained tha the demonstration earlier was to promote his hypnotism school, and informed Weizhe that he could attend the classes if he got his parents permission. What was a young kid doing all alone out here without parents? Weizhe told him that he was an orphan and everything that had happened, like how he had ran away just earlier.

Something about Weizhe drew Keith’s interest. Perhaps that rather hypnotic look in Weizhe’s eyes. Keith wasn’t all too sure, but he felt like Weizhe had some sort of future potential. Keith asked about the orphanage Weizhe was from and where it was at. At first Weizhe didn’t want to say in fear of getting yelled at when he returns. But when Keith said, “Don’t worry. I’d like to know so I can adopt you as my son,” Weizhe’s eyes lit up and he immediately told Keith the name of the orphanage. The two went back to the orphanage; as expected, the people there were angry with Weizhe. Weizhe believed that Keith probably did something to them since the anger turned to worry instead. After talking for a long time and signing a lot of legal paperworks, Weizhe was adopted into the Lovell family.

Joining the family, Weizhe quickly got acquainted with Keith’s wife and father. He had gotten himself a wonderful family–loving parents and a sweet old grandfather. Life was great. Weizhe grew up learning about hypnotism from Keith from simple suggestion to complicated conditioning, and all the numerous ways to do so. Weizhe caught on quickly since he was highly interested in it. As for school, he joined a local elementary. It was around this time that Keith took notice of something peculiar about Weizhe. The boy had the ability to hypnotize animals alongside humans. At first Keith didn’t believe it, but after a few demonstrations, he was convinced

During his middle school years, Keith got Weizhe a private tutor because he had decided to make a name out of Weizhe. Keith, Weizhe, and the tutor traveled around the world; Leaving his hypnotism school under the care of Keith's wife and father. Weizhe ended up participating in many competitions, talent shows, and the like. His name became widespread. He appeared everywhere on televisions, newspapers, magazines, radios, internets and more.

Come the time at which he would be in high school, Weizhe decided to take a break from the limelight. He returned to China and decided to enroll to a local high school. One week after he did, he suddenly received an invitation to attend Hope’s Peak Academy. Weizhe had heard of the prestigious school before, as did Keith. He felt proud that Weizhe would be able to attend the school as the SHSL Hypnotist.

On the day he arrived in school, Weizhe felt odd for some reason before everything gradually became black. The next thing he knew when he came to, Weizhe woke up on a ship in the middle of the ocean.
