Yugo is essentially Yuma in 5Ds-land so... There is a chance for him. Go Yugo! Go go!

Yuugo called her "sister Rin" tho, so I'm not sure if shipping them is a good idea...

So? The point of childhood frinds is that they consider each other equal to siblings. And sometimes childhood friends fall in love...
(Plus, I don't think they're really siblings... at least I hope so.)

Honestly, it's mostly a fiction thing. Most real people wouldn't ever want to marry people they knew as kids, so yeah, I don't really like this trope. It's highly unrealistic.
(Actually, I hope they are. It would be nice change and nice thing to see.)

Yugo is in love with rin! There are literally HEARTS IN THE BACKGROUND AS HE'S THINKING OF HER. And the other evidence.
- In an interview it states Yugo sees Rin as a treasure that he can never replace.
- On a poster for Valentines Day, Yugo is holding a chocolate smiling while you can see Rin's outline on his D-Wheel's windshield.
- It's repeatedly shown that Yugo really misses Rin. He's hopped dimensions numerous times to find her and keeps recalling their promise regarding the Friendship Cup.
- When Yugo finds Yuzu in Episode 47, he runs up and hugs her because he thinks she is Rin.
- Episode 54:
- When Yuzu asks if Rin is Yugo's girlfriend, he blushes and says that they aren't dating or anything because they haven't done anything yet.
- He warped to Xyz while chasing Rin after she was kidnapped by Yuri. His voice is full of concern as he bikes through destroyed Heartland calling her name.
- He confuses Yuzu for Rin again in Episode 62 and tries to hug her again.
- Before his duel with Sawatari in Episode 72, Yugo promises to Rin that he'll win and duel Jack.
- Ending 4 shows both of them sleeping next to each other.
- Episode 84:
- Yugo remembers of his and Rin's dream of having a riding duel in front of a large audience
- The very thought of Rin complementing Yugo makes him beyond happy.
- In a flashback, Rin giving a him a sweet smile as she says his determination is his greatest strength.
- Episode 86: When Yugo first sees Yuri, his first thought is to chase Yuri down as he kidnapped Rin. He even leaves the Duel Palace to do so.
- Episode 91: Yugo catches up to Yuri and intends to kick his ass and force Rin's location out of him.

Too bad though. I'd still rather see some quality friendship/sibling-like relation finally.

It's not highly unrealistic. Sometimes it happens.
By the way, when he called her sister?

It is highly unrealistic. Sometimes it happens so it's not completely unrealistic. Just highly.
I'd have to check the episode again but he did refer to her as "Rin-imou" what means pretty much "little sister Rin".

Boy, are you a downer. The little kids at You Show called Yuya "Yuya-nichan" and Yuzu "Yuzu-nechan", and yet they aren't related at all. Also, for an example outside of Yugioh, in Shuriken Sentai Ninningers, the blue Ranger, Yakumo, calls his cousin, the Red Ranger, Takaharu "Taka-nii".
Also, from a personal standpoint, I still have a crush on my childhood friend, and she's getting married in a couple of months. So falling for your childhood friend isn't "highly unrealistic", just rare like marrying your high school sweetheart.

But they do see them as older siblings figures. And I don't see anyone shipping them with either Yuuya or Yuzu (and god bless). Also it's very possible (and tbh heavily hinted) that Rin and Yuugo are foster siblings, just like Crow, Jack and Yusei were in 5D's. I don't know about you, but for me this kind of being family is just as legit as being actually related by blood.
I don't see why you're giving me example of cousins though? It's still blood-related family, it's kinda normal he'd refer to him as a brother?
It is highly unrealistic fiction trope, because it's rare thing in real life. Does it make more sense now? Because that's what I meant.

E-Hero In reply to SilentAcid [2015-05-03 14:05:03 +0000 UTC]
The point was the just cause they call them a sibling, doesn't mean they are. You call your best buds your "bros", don't ya? Same principle.
If it's rare in reality, it can't be highly unrealistic. Unrealistic said it'll never happen in reality, but rare proves it can.

SilentAcid In reply to E-Hero [2015-05-03 14:32:32 +0000 UTC]
But they still might consider them as such. And don't even think about anything romance-related toward them. Because they still see them as family of some sort, not exactly really related but still.
I call only people who I see that way bros. And believe me, I'd be very disgusted if someone'd assume I'm in relationship with any of them.
It can't be completely unrealistic if it happens in reality. It still can be highly unrealistic. Because while it does happen, it happens so rarely that it's... well, very unrealistic to assume that each fictional pair of childhood friends will end up marrying each other in the future.
(Note, unrealistic things happen even in real life. Almost never, but it does happen that something occurs what shouldn't really happen.)

Yes, and I did reply to this comment. And it doesn't change my stance on the ship, I still don't like it and I still hate how they continue to overuse the trope of childhood friends becoming lovers to the point where it starts seeming unrealistic. And I still would rather see a male/female friendship with no romance whatsoever involved where they're that dedicated to each other.
Long story short, cool that they're canon, ship them if you like, I will stay in my corner being bitter and dislike the ship.
