This was another piece I had put together to sell at an AWA. I had completely different plans for this, but I had to dumb down my concept a lot to make sure I got it done on time (I had to finish this one before Wildflowers that same morning). Someday I owe myself to do a MMX group poster like the one in my head, but until then, the colors on this one are kinda funky nice I guess.Oh, and as for the guys in the BG, I just picked two from each MMX 1-6, along with all the major boss characters. At the time, Vile was only a memory to many, so it was cool to include him alongside Gate and Hi-Max, who at the time were more popular overall, but now the reverse is so much more true, funny huh?
Anyway, my old ex-roommate was enraged because I didn't put Wheel Gator on it. "A MMX picture without Wheel Gator?" he said. "That's not cool!" Knowing he knew as much about Wheel Gator as my mom, I rolled my eyes a bit.
I like Wheel Gator as much as anyone, but Wheel in place of Stag n' Mag? Please!

this is awesome. i love the megaman x games. they had a really twisting story. well for me i liked x5 the most. especially the part where x and zero will fight. hehehe epic!!

Magna centipede is the shit! if that is indeed who you put in there, im guessing so. he was really hard as a kid, since i replayed like all my megaman X games recently i remember he slowly drains x of all his powers, like the power to jump, or dash. plus magma dragoon is the sickest street fighter reference in mm history haha. well man i love the bright colors in this there so powerful, but what really drew me to this piece was how you be stilled a lot of personality into each and every character on there (especially the ones that aren't as welly known, like the various mavericks ) im supremely glad you stopped before you reached the really shitty megaman X games like x7. just my opinion. anyway great job! keep doing what you do!

This is absolutely fantastic. The only thing I'd comment on is that I'd have grouped together Colonel and General with Doppler and Dynamo, since they weren't really evil. Just antagonists up to a certain point.

Heh thanks, but I'm sure Capcom's got a plethora of folk on their shores that would help out on a cartoon show. I'd definitely love to do a comic for 'em though, if such an opportunity ever arose.

I bought this print at AWA 2009, and along with the others I bought, they are all absolutely amazing. Hell, the only reason I'm here posting this is because of this art here!
It's a shame you were rushed to finish this piece though. It only makes me shake with anticipation on the original image you had brewing in your head.

Maybe if UDON does a Megaman Tribute I'll go for something close to what I originally imagined for this pic. Though honestly, I'm glad I handled this picture the way I did. The rainbow of colors is something I wouldn't have imagined myself doing, so it was a nice change of pace I guess.

Wow! Not only did I had to sit and remember how much of a pain-in-the-ass Neon Tiger was for me and remmebering the names of these mavericks. (I really thought Blast Hornet was Gravity Antonion) but is it me or Does X look a little maverick?

Magma's on there, along with Jet. I love Frost Walrus, but I just like Jet more.
I used to be a big Sting fan before the game came out, cuz I like lizards, but then I discovered the Kuwanger. Honestly though, I think X1 and X4 had the best bosses overall. I love Centipede and Catfish and the other guys, but as a full set, those two games get the vote from me. They could have brought all the X1 guys back for the sequel and I wouldn't have complained.

You're actually confusing Magna Centipede for Blast Hornet, and only one Maverick from those games has horns like the other guy does. I do think the bug guys could be related though. They mentioned some connection with Gravity Beetle anyways, another one I like.
Hey, honestly, if Capcom wanted me to treat Alia any different from Signas, Douglas, or any of those other sideliners, they'd have slapped a buster gun on her arm from the beginning. Seriously, the MM franchise begs for a stronger female presence, and so first they give us a girl we have to kill (almost for the heck of it), and then they give us a chatterbot who thinks we forgot what a "pit" does. Sheesh! Not that I hate Alia really, but everyone on that poster showed their grit on the battlefield for the games they were in, while she didn't.
Speaking of which, and I mentioned this on an earlier comment, but I do remember wanting to put Iris up there. I just didn't feel she really fit up there with the others. She could have called down a giant Metool for you to fight as her "boss," or a girder could have fallen on her head, and it wouldn't have made much difference. Her fight was like a means to an end.
However, wouldn't it have been great if her ghost came down and smacked Dynamo off the screen every time you had to fight him? That guy was such a loser.

I would have had Alia and Iris beneath X and Zero respectively, like shadows on the floor, covering part of the text. Would emphasize their relationship.

*looks at Magna Centepede again* ahhh, I see it now. Neon Tiger's claws made it look like part of Magna's head for a sec, thats how I got confused.
As for Alia, she's not supposed to do combat. I mean, not every reploid has to have the ability to fight, right? I just think she has a really cool character design, and they missed a golden opportunity to have something between her and X. It looked obvious to me. But then, that one girl (forgetting her name) on the PSP verson of Megaman X looked cool too (even though it totally broke canon)
I would have sympathized for Iris a whole lot more if the dubbing on X4 didn't suck so bad. ... speaking of which, I know Megaman sounded like a 4 year old girl originally.... but WHY did they bring his voice back for X? Even an idiot listening to the original Japanese could tell X sounded like an adult.... come on people, THINK or I will set you on fire!
LOL, yeah, what the frak was up with Dynamo anyway? I mean, every time you turn around, there he was. Would have been better to bring Vile back (and I would love to have seen a 32 bit Vile too)

Oh, my GOD... This is just too epic! The colors, Vile, Doppler, Sigma, Gate, Bit, Byte, High Max... And I love how you just threw in a bunch of maverick bosses from different games, this is like a poster for a MegaMan X movie... I've a cool MegaMan poster on my profile too, please take a look... It's probably not a s good as this one, though... (I can't color like that...)...
