Both have had to save their families from a ghost king bent on world domination, and have been aided by plenty of allies during these adventures, including an old-timely scientist. Both were destined from birth to be heroes thanks to a prophecy (Luigi being a Star Child / Pac-Man being “the yellow one”). Both are portrayed as easygoing and friendly with a naive and timid side as well. They also originated from Popular 1980s Arcade Games.
