Daniel sighed as he walked around the supposed headquarters of John and his gang: an alley filled with trash and broken furniture. He was tired, and his stomach hurt, but John was very tough on him, today.

"Tomorrow, we start training again," he told him.

The Shiny Vulpix limped over to a nearby cushion, preparing to lie down.

"Ugh...why am I even here?" he asked.

"I should ask you the same thing."

Daniel practically shrieked before he turned and saw a familiar one-eyed Poochyena, glaring at him from the shadows.

"Still as jumpy as ever, I see," Kuro quipped.

"K-Kuro?!" Daniel questioned. "W-what are you doing here?"

"I came to talk to you. What do you think?"

The vulpine stared at her before looking away.

"If you're gonna try and take me back to Alexis, forget it," he said. "You heard her...I'm not part of her team, anymore."

"Daniel, you can't live this way," Kuro said. "Alexis misses you...she's not even eating enough."

"Well, she should've thought of that before she stuck her nose in my business!" Daniel barked. "Look, whatever problem I had with Wallace, it was mine alone!"

"Well, that's too bad," Kuro said. "It's because of your grudge against your brother that she got worried in the first place!"

"Look, Kuro, you better leave before John and his gang hears you," Daniel warned.

"I'm not afraid of a bunch of punks," Kuro said before he turned to leave. "Look...just come to your senses before you end up doing something you'll regret...and soon."

With that, the canine walked away, leaving Daniel alone.
