Description
So I was looking back at my old NG work, and I found a few things that I decided I wanted to redraw. This one is a HUGE upgrade from the original! There is so much that's changed since the original one was made. This is a redraw of this! www.deviantart.com/xhalesx/art… I was gonna just update that deviation, but it's so old and outdated that it's in vector groups so uh HAH just gonna resubmit it.

I like to think that Ginger Gold and Sweet Laughter have a really close friendship compared to the rest of their friends, like Dashie and Pinkie Pie do. So they always try to make time to spend some time together.

Sweet Laughter waited eagerly for her bestest friend, Ginger Gold, to come outside. She had knocked on the door to the Apple's farm and let Mrs. Applejack know who she wanted to see. She kept a huge grin plastered on her face as she waited. Eventually, Ginger Gold made her way to the front door, and gave Sweet Laughter a smile as she stepped outside. Sweet Laughter's grin got bigger and the two walked (actually, Sweet Laughter bounced) into the apple orchard to find a place to relax.

"Hey Sweet Laughter!" Ginger Gold said with a smile. Sweetie beamed.

"Hey Ginger Gold! Oh my gosh am I so excited to see you again! It feels like it's been foreeeeeeeeever!" Sweetie practically screamed. Ginger Gold covered one of her ears but chuckled.

"Yeah, it's certainly been a hot minute, eh?" She asked, looking up at the sky. Sweet Laughter looked up and flew up to the cloud and landed on it, then glanced down at Ginger Gold, who was still standing on the ground. She made the realization that Ginger Gold couldn't join her on the cloud.

"Ohhh right, you're an earth pony. Non-pegasus ponies can't go on clouds. I could've sworn you were a pegasus at one point..." Sweet Laughter pondered, putting her hoof to her chin. Ginger raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"W-What? Ah was never a pegasus in mah life! Ah've always been an earth pony!" She stammered. Sweetie laughed and flew back down to the ground.

"Oh, nevermind then~!" Sweetie said with a giggle. Ginger gave her another look of confusion then stared up at the cloud above her and smirked.

"Soooo, how in Celestia are we gonna be able to relax together on a cloud when you're an earth pony that'll fall through the clouds if you try to stand on it?" Sweet Laughter asked, shooting a glance at Ginger Gold. Ginger chuckled and pulled out her lasso.

"Easy peasy, watch this." Ginger Gold said with a smirk. She twirled her lasso to form it into a circle, then threw it around the cloud. She heaved the cloud all the way to the ground until it was steady, then she dropped her lasso and gave Sweetie a proud smile. Sweet Laughter cheered and clapped for her best friend, then quickly hopped onto the cloud and pulled Ginger Gold up with her. Ginger Gold was taken by surprise and had to take a second to get her bearings on the cloud, but she smiled and laid down and relaxed herself. She sighed happily.

"So this is what it feels like to lay on a cloud. Ah can see why Momma loves ta sleep on 'em now." Ginger Gold said with a pleased sigh. Sweet Laughter nodded and got comfortable as well.

"My mama doesn't sleep on clouds very often, but she's always told me that they're very soft and fluffy and comfortable! Even my mom said the same thing, and she's an earth pony!" Sweet Laughter said with a giggle. Ginger smiled.

"Well, ta be fair, yer mom can jump from Ponyville up ta Cloudsdale in one single go. She's got energy tha' nopony could ever have, an' even mah parents get surprised by her antics sometimes an' they've known her ferever. An' ya definitely got some'a her energy." Ginger said with a laugh. Sweetie giggled along with her. After their laughter was done, there was a silence between them for some time, but it wasn't awkward. In fact, it was peaceful, and it gave them a chance to take in the atmosphere around them. Eventually, Sweet Laughter cleared her throat and gave Ginger Gold another grin.

"Sooooo, what have you been doing? How has life been?" Sweet Laughter asked Ginger Gold cheerfully. Ginger thought for a moment, then gave her another proud smile.

"Oh, ya know, jus' practicin' mah pretty impressive lassoin' skills. Ah've won a couple'a competitions with 'em. Even got a couple'a trophies and everythin'." Ginger Gold explained, keeping her proud face. Sweet Laughter gasped in excitement.

"Wow Ginger Gold! That's so amazing! You've always been amazing at what you do!" Sweet Laughter said with excitement. Ginger Gold chuckled awkwardly and blushed at the compliment.

"Ah, gee, thanks Sweetie. Ya always know how ta make me blush with yer compliments." Ginger Gold said with a chuckle. Sweet Laughter grinned again.

"So, uh, what about ya? What have ya been doin'?" Ginger Gold asked that question but knew the answer to it already. Sweet Laughter's face beamed with excitement. Ginger Gold knew she was about to talk about her job and she loved how into it Sweet Laughter was. She smiled.

"Oh man, I've been having sooooo much fun traveling around Equestria! The ponies love my comedy routines and jokes, and even pranks! It's sooooooooooo fun traveling the world and seeing different places I've never been before, but it's always nice to just be home and relaxing and seeing you again!" Sweet Laughter said rather quickly. Ginger Gold smiled.

"Ah'm glad ta see ya again, too. It's always a pleasure ta be able ta catch up with ya again." Ginger Gold said with a smile. Sweet Laughter grinned and gave her best friend a tight hug. Ginger Gold's smile got bigger and she also returned the hug, but then started pushing Sweet Laughter away when she was losing air.

"S-Sweetie, y-yer squeezin' me too hard... a-ah can barely breathe for pete's sake...!" Ginger squeezed out. Sweet Laughter quickly pulled away and chuckled awkwardly.

"Heh, sorry. Guess I got a little too carried away." She admitted. Ginger shook her head and chuckled, and Sweet laughter also chuckled as well. They laughed together for a while. Sweet Laughter's brain suddenly came up with an idea and she gasped, nearly scaring the hay out of Ginger Gold.

"Oooooh, I got an idea! Why don't we go out and prank some ponies? It'll be the perfect way to practice my comedy routine!" Sweet Laughter said with excitement. Ginger Gold smiled in interest, but shook her head.

"Sorry Sweetie, but ah'm gonna have ta decline yer offer. My ma and my momma have told me that prankin' can get ya in trouble. One time, mah momma Rainbow Dash was gonna prank the entirety of Ponyville, but when she revealed her plan to yer mom, Pinkie told the whole town about it, an' they all pretended to turn into rainbow-mouthed zombies from the cookies that mah momma fed 'em!" Ginger Gold said with a laugh. Sweet Laughter also laughed as well.

"My moms also told me about that story too! My mom Pinkie Pie told me about how she set the whooooooole thing up, and that the look on your momma's face was priceless!" Sweet Laughter explained with a little snort. Ginger Gold and Sweet Laughter laughed harder at the story, and Sweet Laughter's snort, together.

"Ah wouldn't want tha whole town turnin' against us an' pretendin' they're rainbow-mouthed zombies an' scarin' the hooie out of us!" Ginger Gold said with a smile. Sweet Laughter nodded in agreement.

"Meeee neither! That would be waaaaaay too scary for me!" She explained. Ginger Gold chuckled and nodded in agreement as well.

The two mares continued sitting on the cloud, chatting away and catching up with each other on what they've missed or talking about their past and even gossiping, and sometimes telling stories and making jokes. They always enjoyed spending their time together, and today was no exception for the both of them. They would sit for hours and chat about random and crazy stuff, or things that had happened in their lives or things they were excited for. All kinds of wonderful and awful things.
