I've decided that I'm gonna participate in Pondie Month this year!

This is VERY late but it's still within the due date at least. But honestly, I was highly convinced I wouldn't be finishing this on time. Between juggling through going to events to see my friend that's a senior in highschool (who's graduating tomorrow), being at the ER with my mom and my sister for about 6 hours, having to practically babysit, having to do chores, and also having people trying to get me on our Minecraft server throughout this past week, it was very stressful for me trying to get this finished in time. Thank goodness I FINALLY finished it. But a little lesson? Start your stuff right away! I did put this off until the 16th, but I really didn't think it would take this long to do adsgsgfhstgh I'm just glad this is done.

So one of Shimmering Lake's strongest memories is the time that the lovestruck couple Galaxy Roamer and Pumpki Bumpkins had wandered to her home land ('cuz they thought it was just a normal pond, it's a common mistake that (my) pondies go through). They were messing around with each other and they ended up falling into her pond together. Shimmering Lakes (coincidentally) was coming to her home and noticed that something was off. She saw the (now) fused Pumpki and Galaxy Roamer step out of her pond, of course with visible confusion on her face. She didn't know they were fused but after listening to them talk she figured it out.

Yes, I used the background I made last time for this, BUT I did make it myself so it should still count! I just zoomed it in a bit since the scale is bigger on the ponies.

I made my own version of Galaxy Roamer and Pumpki Bumpkins' fused form. adultmare made her own version a long time ago and hers is so adorable, but I really wanted to try my hand at my own! I did keep some of the things she had on it, like the little star-pumpkins and the markings and freckles and even eye shape. I really really like how she came out and I think it represents them both pretty well!

Here's the story of how it played out (I tried to stay with the original story but it was so long ago and the deviation is deleted off dA now so I can't really remember it so I did add my own parts into here):

Galaxy Roamer and Pumpki Bumpkins giggled together as they sat at the edge of the pond together. Gala wrapped her arms around her lover and gave her a sly look.

"This hidden pond is perfect for us to be together... alone. It's gorgeous as well." Galaxy Roamer said. Pumpki smiled, leaning into her.

"Yes, it's a very perfect spot for us." Pumpki Bumpkins responded. Gala nodded and moved Pumpki's hair out of her face.

"It's beautiful, but you look even more beautiful." Galaxy Roamer said, gently kissing her lover's neck. Pumpki blushed and leaned back, a little too far, and before she knew it, she was falling into the pond behind her. Galaxy Roamer panicked and tried to grab Pumpki, but was too late and ended up falling in with her.

Shimmering Lakes calmly made her way towards one of her many lakes. She was returning from a thoughtful walk, and decided to come back and get her friends, Zac the turtle and Alex the fish. She left them in the pond to swim around together. She pushed away some bushes that revealed the path to her pond and followed it. The path vanished once she reached the entrance of her home, and she made her way inside. Her ears perked up as she heard some splashing around in the water. She got closer to the pond and glanced out towards the horizon and didn't see anything. All of a sudden, a pony emerged from the water, causing her to gasp. The pony seemed frightened and very confused. Shimmering Lakes thought the pony she saw was one pony, but she was actually two ponies merged together. Shimmering Lakes opened her mouth to speak, but the pony in front of her spoke first as she glanced at her cutiemark and wings.

"G-Gala, I think we're fused together!" She heard the pony say. It was a strange thing for a pony to say to seemingly nopony but herself. The pony started blushing and her eyes widened in shock as Shimmering Lakes stared at her with worry on her face.

"I-I think you're right, Pumpki! What the heck?!" The pony said again, in the same voice. She said two different names, and this made Shimmer suspicious.

"Excuse me, but may I ask what's going on? And why you're in my home?" Shimmering Lakes asked the mysterious pony. The pony looked at her and stepped back a bit.

"This is your home?!" The pony asked her. Galaxy Roamer had said this. Shimmering Lakes nodded.

"W-We're so sorry to intrude your home! We thought this was just a pond that didn't belong to anypony." The pony (as Pumpki Bumpkins) said. Shimmering Lakes held her hoof up.

"It's okay, I understand you didn't know, but the thing I'm more concerned about is... what happened? Are you two ponies? Or one pony? Who are you?" Shimmering Lakes asked her in confusion. The pony nodded.

"We're two ponies that got fused together! We fell into the pond together when we were messing around and then we felt a weird sensation and suddenly we were fused! O-Our names are Galaxy Roamer and Pumpki Bumpkins but since we're together you can call us..." The pony (as Galaxy) shouted. She thought for a moment.

"...how about Galmpi Roamkins?" The pony (as Pumpki) said.

"Yeah, sure." Galmpi Roamkins (as Galaxy) said. Shimmering Lakes glanced to the pond in surprise.

"So... you two fell in and fused together from my pond?" Shimmer asked them. Galmpi Roamkins nodded. Shimmering Lakes thought to herself.

"Incredible. I didn't know that was possible! I guess it isn't too surprising since this pond is magical." Shimmering Lakes said, dipping her hoof in it. Galmpi watched her.

"C-Can you change us back?!" Galmpi shouted (as Galaxy). Shimmering Lakes thought for a moment.

"I can't change you back, since my magic isn't that strong, but maybe the pond can. Please, could you step in again?" Shimmering Lakes said. Galmpi hesitantly nodded and stepped into the pond, but nothing happened. Shimmering Lakes thought again.

"Try submerging yourself. Fully, your face and mane as well." Shimmer instructed. Galmpi nodded but looked down at the water. She took a breath and dove underneath.

Shimmering Lakes watched the magic unfold. She couldn't see what was going on under the water, but she did see some white streaks and sparkles coming out from the water. Shortly after, the magic stopped. Shimmer watched as now two ponies stepped out of the pond. The both of them sighed in relief.

"Thank Celestia that's over." Galaxy Roamer said. Her marefriend nodded in agreement.

"I love you to death, but I don't ever want to do that again." Galaxy Roamer said with a laugh and wrapped her arm around her lover. Pumpki chuckled and nodded in agreement.

"You and me both, Gala." Pumpki responded affectionately. Shimmering Lakes was taking some time to understand the situation that had happened, but she learned something new about her pond.

"Thanks for showing me the ability of my pond that I never knew about. In all my years of living here I never knew that that would happen." Shimmering Lakes said with a chuckle. Her tone became more serious now, though.

"Next time, please make sure you aren't invading someone's home before you try to find a spot for privacy. Lots of my kind exist with ponds that look like a place to hang out, but we usually have a sign to show that it's our home." Shimmering Lakes said. The couple nodded.

"S-Sorry, it won't happen again!" Galaxy Roamer said quickly. Shimmering Lakes smiled in understanding.

"Please, don't worry about it. I'm glad you stumbled upon my pond and shown me something this powerful." She said to them. They gave each other a look.

They departed from Shimmering Lake's home, relaying about what had just happened to them. Shimmering Lakes gathered her friends into her mane and tail and took off on another adventure to another one of her ponds.
