Interesting character, how in the world did you think this one up?

Actually, it was suggested to me by a friend who REALLY wanted to see an anthro Lepti. Before he mentioned it, I had no clue what a Leptictidium even was. 0_o

Oh hi!
I didn't realize you had a DA account. Heh, like you, I'm not here very often, as you can see this account is bare-bones compared to my FA account.

Same here. My life's in furry, so it only makes sense.

It's quite our of the ordinary isn't it?
I wonder how he thought up a character like that!
Still you made a good representation of it, well done.

Because I was surprised to see so few fanart of leptis since the BBC/Discovery series "Walking With Prehistoric Beasts", and even fewer anthros- the latter all done at my suggestion. (This and another one are on dA- Just do a keyword search for "leptictidium" and select "newest"- You'll see the other.

Unlike many extinct species, we're actually lucky to have found well-preserved specimens, enough so that even the fur pattern is known. They lived 50-40 million years ago.

It sure was an interesting idea for the artist to draw.
Good idea.

I'm always trying to get artists to draw leptis, though mostly not here- I'm not on dA all that often.

Possible precursor to elephant shrew? Funny, and cute.

I like the tail wrap.

They were shrew-like, but I think their genus went extinct entirely. They're cute tho.
