Description
For the first time in her life, Ushas didn't feel confident. Her child the universe, was strong, stronger than she was, as is sometimes the fate of mothers. She needed to learn to live with it. "I must adapt she thought. She started by adapting her clothing to fit the setting. It made her feel cute.
She jumped into the ocean and came face to face with life. The water dampened sound; it was soothing. At this time, around 150 million years ago, the only animals on earth were fish, but she didn't know this. Ushas is the Goddess of Light, but this technically makes her the goddess of life, as all life requires light for energy. A long time from now she would be referred to as either one of the two interchangeably. As goddess of life, Ushas could telepathically communicate with cerebral lifeforms. She didn't know this until a big yellow fish swam by her.
"What are you?" Ushas thought. "I'm a fish." Replied the fish. This startled Ushas as nothing had ever communicated before. But was really excited. "Do you live in my thoughts?" she asked the fish. "I'm not sure I understand, but I think my thoughts are my own." replied the fish. Ushas's mind was blown. She had never communicated with another living being before, nor conceived of the idea. She had a million questions but was not sure how to articulate all of them so she kept it simple.
She asked what the fish's purpose was. She explained eating, which sounded enticing. She explained swimming which felt useless to Ushas who could fly on her wings of light. She explained the drive to mate. That sounded familiar to Ushas.Β
"Is that how you create?" asked Ushas. "Create? I suppose, I lay eggs and they hatch into many who are like me?" replied the fish. "Do you get pregnant to make the eggs?" Ushas was chomping at the bit to find out the answer to this particular question. To her disappointment the fish replied. "What is pregnant?"
Ushas explained her pregnancy as best she could, but with the fishβs limited knowledge of anything outside of the ocean, it didn't really make sense to her. "I'm hungry." the fish blurted out. The fish had been patient, but now swam away.Β
Ushas thought to herself. It's not pregnancy, but the creation does start inside the body. "At any rate, I need to try this "eating" My body is starting to feel weak. Maybe there is hope yet. I will try to find other living beings." She jumped out of the water and spread her wings. She was eager to see what else Earth had to offer.Β

Mere mortals cannot comprehend the form of a goddess, not even if one dances with them. For this reason, Ushas looks a bit different in every picture.Β
