I think it best that it isn't the teenage looking Link because of two things:
1.) Hormones- Link would be trying to surf and stare at Krystal at the same time.
2.) Zelda, who also arrive at that same beach, may think that her elf swordsman is having a fling with another female warrior.
Another picture would take refferance with Super Smash Brothers Brawl:
Falco putting together the jigsaw puzzel that was once Link's shield, Mario ducktaping his split in two sword, and Link with everything but his hair bandaged up.
Zelda and Krystal standing outside his room:
Zelda: Well, it would seem that there is an opening in Brawl. Do you want it or give it to Maxxor from Chaotic.
Krystal: I'll take it. Maxxor can go with the fourth one; I even heard that Spider-Man may be on that one.
