what i don't get is later in the show the mothers got a redesign that made them look like clones of their daughters and i'm just wondering "why?"

Now that you mention it, I also noticed the changes when watching those episodes back then. Maybe they wanted the daughters to resemble their mothers like a troupe.

Maybe in between episodes, their mothers had plastic surgery to resemble their daughters more.

Yeah but itβs so jarring. plus they had enough of a resemblance in the first place.Β it's just so jarring making them look exactly like their daughters except taller and with the addition of a couple wrinkles.Β family resemblance is one thing, genetic cloning is another.
