Description This is from one the most origianl and most watched stock sites. is gorgeous and full of character. The reference is a picture called LameAssStockFace To be honest the dreads she has were a total bitch to draw and I didn't do them justice at all. After failing at that I didn't do much work with her clothes either. This is one I am not putting fixative on just yet, but for now I am done with it.
Thanks CheshireCattieStock

Wow, this is totally beautiful work. I looked at the photo and you have totally captured her so perfect. I wish that I could draw from portraits like this.

I tell you, drawing from imagination is harder. I tried to be a comic book penciler but I didn't have consistency, or speed. So I am concentrating on portrait and figure work. With a reference photo it's like butter. The translation gets better and easier everytime. I need to do more work from my head. Not from pictures really
Thanks for the compliment!

I especially like the model this time. *jumps up and down for cute girls*

The hair looks fine, really, so I wouldn't waste any time stressing about it, but you're right... This really is all about the face (which is beautiful btw).

not only for your drawing but for the model too.
12 years really is a long time to practice, and you've managed to make good use of that time. haven't you ever considered showing it to a studio or something? i believe you would get a much better job (not that yours is bad, but maybe you could spend 7 or 8 hours drawing instead of 4 or 5).

Yeah I will agree I have spent alot of time but I don't have a skill anyone is interested in buying.... except maybe the people I drew the picture of. I have tried alot of times to see how marketable my art is and no one I have ever talked to was even remotely interested. Portriature is something people do at county fairs and saturday markets and stuff.... 20 bucks for a 20 minute drawing, not my gig. I don't mind ... It just means I am doing it for me. Not for money or glory or (hahaha) fame. I really only joined this site because my brother was on here and a bunch of my friends.... So I followed the crowd. Not to much a follower but they are my kids, I like to kick it with people I have things in common with. It's a fun time, nothin more, and I am more than okay with that. But thanks so much for the vote!!

you know, i just dont get you...
i barely find the time to draw a pic a week, yet you manage to have a new deviation to wow me with every time i get home at night...
where on earth do you find the time?!
its even more mindboggling considering the sheer quality and mastery of your pics!
and then, after producing a piece as beautiful as this... you claim its just a doodle and not really a finishe piece!

You might hate me alot now for telling you, but I have a job that has a certain amount of downtime. I am a caregiver, When the guy I take care of doesn't want to do anything. Then I get to sit around and draw. I get paid to be there, just if maybe something is going on and we need to go do stuff. I have clocked the hours. Big time. I spend 4 to 5 hours a day doing this and I have been doing this since I was old enought to hold a pencil. I have been specifically concentrating my many hours of potential socialization and enrichment to drawing portraits since I was about 12. I'm 24 now, 12 years is a long time to get good at something. It takes most normal and fairly well adjusted people maybe 10 more years?? to get close to the hours I have spent doing this stuff. Mostly because they have real jobs, jobs that take thier time instead of giving it to them. I am very lucky..... not much more to it than that...

hey, why would i hate you for it?
actually sounds kind of like my job which hasnt had any work for me for 5 weeks...
sadly, thats free time, therefore wasted on the net and going to gigs...
so i only get to draw in maths, physics, chemitry, english and software design...
lucky you
