Hi, I've made a LOT of plushies, but never with darts to help shape the head. I'm trying to understand the cutouts at the bottom of the head. On your "standing pony" pattern you say these are optional, and you offer a link with directions to someone else's pattern which does not actually involve darts or cutouts to the head, so I'm still bewildered. I've clicked every link in the description and am still sad.

Sorry for the late reply, but the darts for this pattern are simply leaving out this triangular shape from the top and bottom of the head patterns when you cut them out. Then once you sew these edges together, it will create a round bowl shape out of the head half.  Another technique is to leave the triangle shape in the pattern and fold the piece in half on the center of the dart and then sew up the side of the triangle. If it's still not totally clear i'd recommend googling how to sew darts or checking out this;youtu.be/m9x-i-txyfo?t=5 or other videos on the subject. Thanks a ton for using this pattern and supporting me in the process.

How do you make the plush? I know you have a tutorial but it's not for this type of plush. It's hard to understand :/ Sorry for being annoying bye!

so, i want to make this for my little cousin. is there a video tutorial for this? Also, how do you sew the head and where would be the ears? Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions.

xMischief In reply to IrkenInvaderZero [2013-12-03 17:58:16 +0000 UTC]

No video tutorial sorry, you should sew the head with a ladder stitch, and the ears are in the middle of the head.

I don't know if you've seen this yet but...www.ebay.com/itm/My-little-pon… ... it seems this plushy is very flexible. How would one go bout doing that? Also what would be the best material to use please?

xMischief In reply to 89Borderline [2013-10-04 00:28:31 +0000 UTC]

Well shes a beanie so that's mostly why she's so flexible, so you just need to stuff it with the stuffing plastic pellets they use for beanies but i'm pretty sure her head is stuffed with normal stuffing. As for the fabric, most everyone uses either minky or fleece because its so soft but I don't think it really matters as long as you use the pellets it should be super flexible.

Very cool!  I bet it might be a little less confusing if you labeled how to orient each gusset.  Also, why is one part randomly in blue?  Does that mean something?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xMischief In reply to munchforlunch [2013-09-15 19:52:38 +0000 UTC]

Those are darts not gussets. I put a link in the description for more info, which tells that the blue part is where you cut the pieces into sections.
