Description I was messing with my camera and lens and I ended up with this picture. I was (and still am) amazed at the detail of my eye. I can just imagine what it would look like if i took a pic like this of someone with colored eyes.

my eye still feels funny after this picture. I used a flash, and that was a really bad idea hahaha but it was worth it (unless i go blind haha jk). my eye looks like a volcano or something. its so cool!

i decided to use this as my 365 photo because 1. it's awesome, 2. it's my own eye, and 3. it's already day 81 (past midnight).

Have you considered taking photos for iridology? These really let you see all the important things in your eye

What lens did you use to do this? I want to try going macro and I use an XSi too!

it was just the lens that comes with the camera reversed

i think any regular lens (not macro lenses) reversed will give you a macro shot...the smaller the number, the more macro it gets...for example if you set your kit lens at 18 mm you will get a closer macro shot than if you set it at 55 mm. the only downside is that you have to hold the lens with your hand to keep it in place and you have to move back and forth to focus. you can't change the f stop at all, only the aperture. getting this shot was really a lucky thing that happened to me haha

BUT, i think they sell reverse lens mounts which would probably make using the reverse lens technique WAYYY easier

Hmm, I could totally try it with my kit lens. Maybe I'll tape it to the camera or something

When you took the photo of your eye, did you use live view to focus on your eye right? I'm still not sure how you could focus with a reversed lens.

i just moved the lens back and forth and hoped for the best....thats why i said it was just a lucky shot i got haha
i tried doing the same thing again, and it took me more than an hour just to get one DECENT shot that wasnt even CLOSE to this photo he he
