Description
I just love fingerless gloves!These are made from fine cotton and would make a wonderful complement to a bride's gown. You can tie the ribbon with the flower where you prefer, near the wrist or above the elbow to keep them from falling down so easily.

Actually, I've been thinking about it for years but given a) I'm not the marrying kind myself; b) such a task would require a lot of time; c)such a thing should fit perfectly the person who's going to wear it; I haven't really tried it yet. I would, however, be extremely happy if anyone commissioned me to do it!

Yes, it's my own pattern. Nowadays I get more pleasure from doing my own designs than following what someone else created, it's really not that hard if you really want to create a set yourself. Just takes a bit of imagination, some experience and the willingness to try and err, and err, and try and err again!

There is definitely some satisfaction from having created something completely on your own. But it does help to have an in depth understanding of the foundation of how something, such as fingerless gloves, is basically constructed before attempting to make a new design.
That being said, have any pointers or good references? Cuz I haven't a concrete clue as how to even begin with confidence of what I'm doing.

Well, actually, fingerless gloves are extremely simple if you choose a good stitch/pattern. If it's stretchy enough like the one I used all you have to do is a tube with a hole on the side for the thumb to stick out! Yep, no need to make complicated increases or decreases, just a tube, that's all! Go for it, I assure you it's easy!

Thank you, that means a lot to me! And you should try if you feel like it, crochet is fun! Personally, of all my hobbies it's the only one that hardly ever causes me any stress, it actually relaxes me a lot, which is great.

Yeah, I love crocheting too. I'm just not that good that I can make my own designs and patterns, and still have it look good. XD

I guess it may take lots of practice, but personally I think it's more the willingness to try and err, and err again and again. Especially if you're making clothing items or accessories, they probably won't fit exactly the way you imagined in the first place, but then you have to have the courage to start over again. I'm afraid these are my 2 cents of advice!

I know, I'm a lot like that too and it gets really stressing when things don't turn out well at first, or second... but oddly enough crochet is one of the few things in which I don't mind much to make mistakes and having to fix them, I don't know, crochet really relaxes me, which is why I like it so much.

They are my own design if that's what you mean. Nowadays I prefer always working on my own creations, I never liked following other people's orders anyway!
