Weeeeeelllll. You know, always worth it to try new things, yeah? At some point I was going to have to get around to a Rainbow Dash model with the colors done in a variety of colored woods. And, as far as that goes, this isn't the worst jumping off point I can imagine. Yeah, the flat lamination on the tail is ridiculous looking, and to get things right I'd need to change things up and cut those pieces along a nice swishy curve and build them into each other, and her eyes are a bit goofy and the hair and tail are just a bit oversized, and honestly I didn't have a ton of fun working on this, but hey, I do like seeing a rainbow of woods all laminated together, so that's nice! Plus I got to be silly and use one of the tragic Hasbro merchandising vectors as the model for her pose. That was fun.
Rainbow is made of walnut and the mane/tail woods are: Red-Bloodwood, Orange-Padauk, Yellow-Yellowheart, Green-Verawood, Blue-Ebony, Purple-Purpleheart.
