A bit more DOOM Eternal fan art I've been slowly working on between larger projects. This is based on the figure that appears in "The Maykrs" concept art ( images.ctfassets.net/rporu91m2…) - it also appears as a statue on a few of the DOOM 2016 multiplayer DLC maps.Assuming the title "The Maykrs" is referring to this creature rather than the location depicted in the art, it evokes the word "Makers" and by extension "creators", which means these could end up being Eternal's version of angels. Time will tell!

So I'm curious are the Maykrs on anyone's side? I don't think they are allied with hell directly (other then the Khan uses Argent energy to make the demons attack anyone but themselves) but I remembered this guy on Sentinel Prime. Which it was a HE cuz the drones look feminine so what's his deal anyone know?

I've never seen any of the Maykr Angels turned corrupted by the Icon of Sin, so I suppose they could have a chance to side with the Slayer if need be.

Even though I never believe they to be "Angels", their true forms caught me surprise. I thought they are some sort of techno-organic/biomechanical humanoid aliens. Well, somewhat they are, but not much on the 'humanoid' part and more on the 'alien' part.
Literally, beneath their calming human-like faces look like monsters.

It turns out that (thankfully) the Khan Maykr her people aren't angels they're advanced beings. And the entities known as the wraiths there's a possibility they may have come from hell and that the Maykr's might have been tricked.

Nah, it's just kept ambiguous. They could be angels. Honestly, I think they should just bite the bullet and go all out. The Maykrs aren't inherently evil, it's just the current Khan who's corrupt and has been twisted by thousands of years of abusing Argent energy.

I love how Doom is running with the fact that angels were actually pretty scary. Hell, their primary greeting for humans was "Be not afraid".

I reckon in Doom 2016-Eternal lore, the Maykrs are indeed the creators of all, so angels, but also kind of like a multi-god sort of race.
They are going to be one of the most interesting character types in the game for sure.

Before doom eternal was announced saw this guy in one of the doom multiplayer dlc maps and was surprised nobody noticed the fact that this guy may have been important to the lore. Great artwork I hope we meet him and hopefully rip and tear his huge guts in eternal.

Even the angels look like horrors in Doom? Well, that's not entirely inaccurate to the descriptions; the angels were fricken eldritch abominations in the old texts!
