I really liked Final Destination, and that new one just made me like it even more. The new one made them seem like accidental deaths, as well as the third.

I didn't go see "~the~ Final Destination", to be honest. By the time I made this doodle, I was kinda bored with the third one, enough not to want to see another FD popcorn-flick again.
Thanks for your comment anyway.

Maybe "Final Destination" would be a prequel to "the ring", "the Grudge", and "Watchmen"!
but that would be weiiiiird.
Plus- it's not polite to promote yourself in other people's space. We're not on Youtube. Just don't do it again in my space.

I didn't see the latest one, ~the~ final destination. I had enough with the second and third ones to be honest. In fact, I didn't quite look at any more horror films after Saw 3. The brain surgery part got the best of me for a long long time.

I stop caring through the third one. The first one was good enough to ignore any sequels, in fact. I could say as much for the Saw movies, but I didn't look past the third one.

I find Reaper/Death using everyday things to kill people is a cowardly way. If Death wants people to die, why can't 'it' just walk up to the person and stop their heart; 'it' can do that, right?
π: 0 β©: 2
XPator In reply to Redtriangle [2009-09-03 16:36:32 +0000 UTC]
well the reaper is supposed to do it like this. You don't see a young sportsman in his mid-twenties die with a heart attack, unless he's a drug addict of some sort.
The reaper in the first movie worked his murders so they looked plausible (I didn't quite enjoy the two others as much as this one for that matter), making them appear as accidental deaths, or suicides.
according to the plot, if too many people were to die in uncanny fashions such as falling stiff-dead in the middle of the street regardless of his health, "people" would start to feel that something's fishy. According to the interest in the movie, no matter how irrelevant these methods are, you must agree that if the makers made their deaths so easy, the movie would be dead boring!

He's going to die from asphyxia, since nothing goes in or out of the room at all XD
But on a more serious matter: Final Destination's Reaper would just find a way to fill the room with gas or smoke. By FD's standards, You're not safe unless it's plot convenient.

I did giving the person a full supply of air (without vents), and the ceiling won't fell on the person because of reinforced metals. The point is if the person lives, he must stay away the outside world. Or if Death did kill the person with its bare hands, the specialists catch it on tape or know that there is something out there.

By definition, you can't cheat on Death, unless you somehow find some way to become immortal -tough chance-
In the sequel (don't ask me which one), the girl from the original was hiding away in a mental hospital, in a secured room. The girl survived all this time from one movie to the next until some random f**ers from the sequels came to beg for help. After that, Death found a way to get in and had its way.
Of course in the first movie, the Reaper is supposed to make the deaths look accidental, and it all went wrong with the sequels. The matter is: there's always a way to die. If it's not the environment, it's in your own body. Some fat clogged in your veins, Death tinkers with it, turns it into a ball or something, then BANG! unexplainable heart attack. THAT, of course, is not entertaining at all in terms of cinema.

XPator In reply to Redtriangle [2009-10-27 11:44:55 +0000 UTC]
That looks more like a game, now that I think of it. Every movie starts with a vision of doom given to one particular victim, which will then mess up the "plan". But what triggers this vision? It would be awesomely frightening to learn that it was the Reaper who trigger these visions just to have a fun time doing a man hunt!
I'm making the movies more entertaining than they really are... Not good. That would push people to watch the movies.
...Hey I know! All along, it could have been Jigsaw! -From Saw!- Y'know? Once he was dead? And dead Jigsaw traps a bunch of stupid teenagers in a run against Death just to show them the meaning of Life, Monty Python's way.

XPator In reply to Redtriangle [2009-11-21 20:41:37 +0000 UTC]
Jigsaw had an ambiguous way of showing his morale to us. He's far from Freddy's fest of fall-mouthed puns and Jason's incredible strength at overcoming anything for the sake of plot-holes, but for a suspense character, he's pretty good.
There's a biased fear behind Saw that somewhat reaches almost all of us, the fear of getting our life gambled by some stranger who believes we're wasting our life. In the first Saw movie, Jigsaw targets terminal causes, people who wasted their life to the point of no return. He's more pissed than anything, since he can't enjoy his life since he's got a brain tumor and the peoples he targets are wasting theirs for no particular reason. Freddy killed for revenge, Jason... 'cause he's Jason, I guess... Michael Myers kills because he's f*cked up, and Jigsaw just put your life in jeopardy so you understand the value of your own life. Unless it's his stupid pupil, that coke addict girl you see in the first movie, his victims have a chance to survive, IF they sacrifice enough.
For most movies I've mentioned, I always preferred the first ones of the lot. They were always better thought out, they had a meaning other than making money out of a franchise, and well... they were genuine. I've babbled long enough I guess. -Oh and Freddy Krueger is my favorite slasher villain ever!

I don't have a favorite, they all suits me.
Does government agencies or even fortune-tellers know about these 'weird deaths'? They're too coincidental and strange even a 'stupid' person can notice.

XPator In reply to Redtriangle [2009-12-18 00:23:59 +0000 UTC]
Too bad the makers of Final Destination never cared enough to push the plot this far. But in the movie's sense, the authorities are pretty much retarded, and utterly incompetent. I think it's in the third movie when the main characters go from one future victim to the next, only to have them die horribly right in their face...
And the cops never stop them, question them NOR their presence in the crime scene ('cause it's not really an accident now, is it?).
In real life, if you dare show your face at an arson fire just to see what's going on, you can be easily marked as a suspect *since they keep a photo of everyone present at the scene*. why the f*** am I trying to get any logical sense in a slasher movie based on a lame phobia? I'll never know.
Anyhoo, happy holidays!

That's one thing I don't like FD. Call me crazy but seriously, I think the writers of these movies are showing people that everyday life is a dangerzone.
π: 0 β©: 1
hahaha34556 In reply to Redtriangle [2009-09-04 01:16:34 +0000 UTC]
but everyday life is a dangerzone. think about it, you can cut yourself open with one wrong slice of a letter opener, you can choke on food, and under the right circumstances you can electrocute yourself by typing something on the computer. Accidents happen, you just gotta live with them. granted, yes, some of the deaths certainly cannot happen at all, and others you would only get severely injured. point is, i really like the movie, you don't, i can live with it. we're done here, i think.

π: 0 β©: 1
SaraNelson In reply to XPator [2007-03-14 17:50:53 +0000 UTC]
it's ok...bloodsports are fun to watch, like Saw. but you're right, in the first movie they had the full feeling that something was watching you, and made inanimate objects actually seem like they were being controlled by some 'other force', like with the water dripping from the toilet in the scene that Todd dies, it seemed to follow some path that gave it a mind of its own. in the other movies, there wasnt as much of that because things became so elaborate that they were unbelievable. and even then the third movie had such a miniscule connection to the first two that it was almost like the third movie in the Halloween series--pointless.
the only reason i think i had for watching all of the movies is because i saw the second one first, and it was somehow hilarious. the suddenness of the deaths made everything so cartoon-like that it made the whole point of the story that much less possible. i suppose that i was looking for more humor in the others.

SaraNelson In reply to SaraNelson [2007-03-16 19:27:36 +0000 UTC]
haha yeah...although Saw was a gorey bloodsport with live torture. i liked the lesson it taught, having the guy who set all of it up not technically a killer. the people kill themselves because they are not willing to do everything they can to live. the way things connect like a food chain where you don't know the peoples' places in the world until later is interesting. but what i like of all is that the guy's a sheer genius the way he sets up all of these torturous contraptions, but the architectural design is amazing. and not only that the situations, although treacherous, are so detail-oriented that unless you really try to think about it, you can't find your way out.

If you're actually talking about the picture (and not the post I made a moment before you), I guess the image itself is not something you would call funny... Unless you're looking at Death wearing bunny slippers.
I figured the thought behind the pic was obvious enough to keep me from explaining everything, but here goes:
If you ever seen the trilogy (I did not see the third one, seemed to look like the two others before), you would be able to summarize that in each movie, Death gets pissed at a couple of persons because somehow they evaded a horrible death at the beginning, with the help of an unlikely medium, most likely a teenager who got a flash of a fatal outcome.
What is described here is Death, taken out of its evening break (the reason why he's wearing Bunny Slippers), as someone eventually came to notice the fatal banana peel on the sidewalk and walk beside it. So instead of letting the event go, Death does like in the trilogy of Final Destination and pester the poor guy to seal his fate.
Knowing that, you will be able to decide whether or not you find the pic funny. Don't ask me why I bothered explaining the whole thing to you, since you bothered asking me if the pic was funny.
I'm not in your brain, so you should be able to decide what makes you laugh and what does not, unless you're some kind of TV-Brainwash addict. Regardless, I hope my reply does not piss you off since it was not my intent in the first place, but I also hope you understand why I wrote all this down just for you.
Humor brings a whole lot of categories together. Some like puns like others prefer scat. If you don't like my humor, that's fine with me. I just hope you won't come and spit on my other pieces of work just to show how lame you find me. Have a nice day.
