This is a rendering of the gears that I've modeled the other day. Just a random mess, but looks AWESOME!
Around 7mil polys.
Rendered in Quicksilver hardware renderer
2000 iterations
Depth of Field
Global Illumination
Ambient Occlusion
GI shadows and light bounces (caustics)
Reflections (all objects are reflective)
HDRI environment
The material is a Mental Ray shader (bless those guys for making MR shaders native to Quicksilver! I'm so used to them

Can you believe this was rendered on a 5-year-old dual-core laptop? Unbelievable? Believe it...

(Original file is a 48-Bit float, however dA can't handle that bit-depth so I had to upload a "flatter" version)

Anyway, I'm known as LyrGear on there. ^^ I'm not sure if that'll help you find me since my friend got so lost but oh well. XD I'll send you a link if you need one. I usually play RPG's with stories like the Tales games.
