This looks wonderful and I really love the way it turned out. If you were looking for an exact version of the dA points logo, I noticed that you were missing a ring on each point. Which points logo did you use as a reference? I'm referring to the black rings on the sides in this page. [link]
Another inconsistency I noticed is the way the glossiness shows on the top of the points themselves. On the point in the front, it looks like the light is coming from the right side and on the point in the back, it looks like the light is coming from the left. If the light is coming from the top, then the plus signs would also be glossy.
I really like the floating effect the plus signs create, though it also addresses the lighting inconsistency issue since the shadows are directly behind the plus signs.
I gave 4 stars for impact because when I saw this in my DevWatch messages, it really stood out for me. I really like the vision as well, and I gave a few stars for technique since the grooves aren't easy to do and they really show well here.
Overall, It's a great start, but I feel it needs to be more like the actual points logo.

I will probably have to update it to contain the ring, which I totally gapped it (but artistic freedom is always good, no?)
For something I slapped together in 10 minutes it turned out pretty nice
The reflections/highlights you see come from an HDR dome, however the actual shadow-casting light in the scene is just a skylight, so that is why you noticed a mismatch - sharp eye there!
Overall, I take this critique as fair and as a pin-point for where to go further with this one

It doesn't really matter if the ring's there. I just mentioned it in case you were going off a reference. I'm not sure what you mean by 'gapped it' though.
