I also found that doing the simple fractals is much harder than the ornate ones. I didn't expect it to be that hard....I got fooled..lol.

one of the most smooth fractal I've ever seen! the simplicity of it makes it close to perfect! it even has a certain serenity music to itself (reminds me of a violin). absolutely gorgeous!

You're correct that working with minimalist or modern techniques can be difficult, because any flaws will be readily apparent and not hidden behind ornate detail. I find that my technique improves when working in minimalist mode, which is why I return to it periodically.
