Well we already had our first picking, There were just enough to make a single apple turnover. I thought of putting more apples on the tree, but it would have meant just that many more layers, and, as you know, I'm just lazy in that regard. Besides, fewer apples adds to the stark graphic nature of the piece.

There are just enough apples on the tree - I was joking because you said it had a low yield. We had two apple trees in our yard and they would alternate years on producing large yields.
