this was inspired by artwork done by the artist Julie Bell. Naturally I also enjoy the comic book series as well. (Vampirella is still my favorite.)

aww, thanks she was actually a creation of Julie Bell's one of my faovirte artists. I am going to do a newer version of her though. Lady Death is one of my favorite comic book characters in general.

Not bad.

I do like the subtle shading you used. Really gives the body a nice feel of form. I would have tried to push those values just a tad darker to really drive the idea of round forms and lightning.

But that's just me being an art dork. It's nice, keep at it!

agreed, this is an older piece... 2003. Since then I've improved a bit with breaking lines and shading. (at the very end of this gallery in the first uploads are some of my new pieces - Lucy Lawless from Battlestar Galactica is probbaly the best example of my current stuff.)

Thankies for the suggestions though, and there is nothing wrong with being an art dork at all I enjoy it personally

Lady Death kicks ass plain and simple.
About the drawing, the way you shaded her skin is freakin sweet, the mid section, breasts, actually all her skin, just looks so smooth and real. I have a problem with subtle shading, I always start making dark lines and crap, I need to learn your way. It looks great.

I used comic book art to do this style.. they use a lot of drastic contrast to make the appearence of smooth skin.

But people start arguing over skin, some say skin should never be "white" because it "isn't white"... but then they also say contrast is a must. so go figure. Perhaps artists are never happy lol Thank you very much for the comment and compliments
