Description Meet some of the characters from 'The Adventures of Tintin',
all of whom are placed nice and neatly in order of appearence.

Row 9: Marco Rizotto, Mr. Laszlo Carreidas, Inglese Spalding, Dr. Krollspell, Mik Kanrokitoff, General Tapioca, Colonel Alvarez, Miss Martine Vandezande.

There ARE more female characters in the books. Mrs. Clarkson, Peggy Alcazar, little Miarka, Mrs. Snowball, Mrs. Chen-yee etc. I just couldn't fit them all. But even still, they are greatly outweighed by men.

That's why this is so funny. http:// www. facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=10150197682991500&set=a.10150094932986500.277812.12936316499&type=1&theater Herge, why are you so funny? XD

Not that anyone will, but please don't ask why I included certain characters and not others. I don't remember my logic for picking everyone; I started this last year some time (yes, it's taken me this long). And there are literally hundreds of important characters in this series. I just didn't have the room.

All characters belong to Herge.

isn't there a lady, from the broken ear. I forgot her name but i know what she looks like, the lady with the slightly odd circles in her hair. I believe you missed her out

Balthazar's landlady? She was hardly a significant character, so I let her out.

Recently, I discovered Tintin. Even with the internet, where I could find the complete books, I tried to buy originals, because I like to read real books and magazines, I like the β€œvintage” feel. I needed inspiration for the juvenile adventure genre, and I thought "Well, why not? This isn’t as sexualized and meaningless as most things around (the main character of my stories, a girl named Gil, is even younger than Tintin, so my concern. Not that she isn’t used to get herself tangled with dangerous stuff. But as we saw with "Kick-Ass", no matter how the child protagonist may be a vicious combatant, is preferable to have several gallons of blood to a single curse word or sexual reference).

I discovered an engaging and meticulously detailed universe, but at the same time simple and convenient. So far, I have been read: β€œTintin in Congo” (man, that WAS really racist, but, it was 1930…), β€œThe Blue Lotus”, β€œThe Broken Ear”, as for real books. β€œTintin in Tibet” and others are available elsewhere in the internet, and I’m collecting every bit of it.

You gave these characters striking individual traits at first sight, and some are just as I imagined it would be a more realistic style. Bianca looks particularly beautiful because her nose now looks less like a toucan's beak and more like a human nose. Mitsuhirato also look great, and his teeth look better in this style, not like a horse, but the way he displays them here and his expression has a so arrogant and angry look that makes me think of a wannabe aristocrat. Works great like this are what I use as reference. Even characters whose features are as comical and exaggerated as Mr. Oliveira da Figueira’s moustache a la Carlos I and Rastapopoulos’ outrageously ugly nose seem believable here.

That said, I declare your work on the HergΓ© characters awesome

You seriously need to stop making me fall further and further in love with you. It's becoming a tad ludicrous.
These are all so very well depicted, and very detailed despite their size and overall simplicity.
I'm always in awe of people who can capture the very subtle facial differences and details which really put characters apart from each other, and you do so beautifully.
Nostalgia abounding as I review these faces oh lord.
Very beautiful, keep up your wonderful work.
