Composition:
Overall well done. I especially like all of the symmetry and leading lines. My eyes tend to follow the road first (with one hiccup, which I'll get to later), and then all over the place from there. The hill, the fields, the other road off in the distance. It's busy enough to stay interesting, but no so busy as to take you eye away from the subject...
Which I assume is mostly the road. This leads to the aforementioned hiccup. In photography, the highest point of contrast in a picture tends to grab the attention of the audience. For better or worse. In this picture, that is without a doubt the sign right in the middle of the composition. It's very dark against a light background and when I look at this image as a whole, I can't keep my eye from staring at it. This would be OK, if it were the subject, but I doubt you meant it to be, given that its so far away and missing details and what not. Overall, I think this could have been better if you walked a bit down the road and tried it from there to avoid the sign, or at least put it off to the side.
The lighting in this shot is a bit uninteresting. It looks like you beefed up the saturation, so its hard to say for sure, but I would guess that you took this shot while the sun was pretty high up in the sky. When the sky is ultra bright and beating down directly on the earth, most digital cameras tend to pick up on a lot of browns. There's nerdy science reasons for this I could go on about, but that's beside the point. Basically the only possible way you could have rectified this was coming back near sunset or sunrise with tripod in hand. The so called "Magic Hour" forces the sun's rays to go through much more of the earth"s atmosphere and purifies the light and makes pretty much everything appear more vibrant, even if the sunrise/set is not actually in frame. Not very practical, but I figure I should mention it regardless.
Technique:
The horizontal and slightly panoramic framing of this shot works very well for the subject matter, so kudos there.
I don't like the exposure (or at least that seems to be the problem) near the top of the image. The foreground seems very well exposed, but as you go further off into the distance, the colors get weird and it starts getting blown out (one or all of the RGB scale for the pixels reaches 255). I would also guess that you had some smearing in the sky before this was cropped, which is just another sign of the same problem. I think a Circular Polarizer would have helped. It appears to be either fog or smog that keeps the far off details from coming out by scattering the light. The CirPol could have helped cut through some of that. The exposure compensation (or shutter/aperture if shot in Manual) could have been stepped down a stop or so and then re-brightened sectionally using the selection tool or the dodge/burn tools in PS after to avoid losing details up there as well. You also could have experimented with 2 shots set to different exposures and blended the two together manually (the darker exposure showing on top, the lighter one on bottom). Kinda like HDR, but looks much more natural.
Overall:
This shot makes me smile. Somehow elicits thoughts of a "time not so long ago" deep down for me. I think it reminds me of the time I spend living in Hawaii. This looks remarkably like the road leading to the Dole Pineapple Plantation on Oahu. Good times.
I love shots of roads. They tend to draw out hope and a sense of longing and looking forward to what the future might hold. It's somehow exciting even though we might not know where the road takes us.
Overall, well done Kid. Looking forward to more from you.

The colors are exquisite. I also like the way the rough texture of the road really shows up.
