...and always ready for service.The first finished element of my Alice: Madness Returns cosplay.
The blade was made of wood. The floral engravings were cut out of cardboard (took ages to do it), then glued on the blade. The final step was to cover it with silver metal leaves.
The core of the handle is also wood and I formed it from polymer clay. The floral ornaments are made of liquid pearl. The whole handle was painted dark brown, the ornaments were 'gilded' with gold metal leaves then varnished with gold 'Chameleon' effect varnish. I have also carved 'Est 1865' and 'VORPAL' into the rim of the hadle.
This weapon is extremely light and easy to wield - it only lacks some blood.
Total lenght: 49 cm (~19")
Blade lenght: 30 cm (~11.75")

Liquid pearl is a kind of 3D paint, but its texture is different, and it becomes harder after drying. I used this brand: [link] Of course, this paint is not for the purpose I used it for, but for pearly decoration.

i personally didnt completely enjoy the first Alice because of the gimmicky combat and the wonky checkpoint system, but Madness Returns was awesome, despite what all the critics were saying!

I really loved the first Alice, too - its atmosphere was so cacthy. I think the graphics - compared to other games - was also amazing back in 2000.
I was really looking forward to the next "episode" of the game and I also found it awesome, despite the negative feedback. Just like in the first game, I enjoyed the atmosphere the most - it made me become an even more dedicated fan.
